Stretch goal: best quality for cards to make sure they don't wear out too soon! At this amount of money, it would be a d*** move to manufacture some cheapo cards :)
Chris F 2015-01-21T11:00:29-05:00
Am I the only one who would enjoy booster pack expansions with various rarity/foil card chances in each pack? This is bringing me back to my TCGing days...
Ragel 2015-01-21T11:01:12-05:00
@ Peter S.
Ah, I think I misunderstood when I read the rules. I thought they meant that you needed to give a product in exchange to the backers and so in that sense you can't just make a donation. But no one can predict they'll get 1000% of their funding so I was thinking maybe donation to cat shelters could be included on top of the game's production as a way to use up the surplus.
I guess it would be something to discuss with KickStarter themselves if it's to be considered.
Regarding product itself, I agree that laminated cards and tin box would be very appreciated.
Rick S. 2015-01-21T11:01:26-05:00
well i'm spreading the word even more 8^P
Nikheil Singh 2015-01-21T11:02:58-05:00
I'm trying to imagine them posting this, going to get some coffee or something and checking back a little bit later and holy sh!t ALL THE MONEY.
Looking forward to adding this to my collection of 'make everyone hate everyone' games.
Brett MacDonald 2015-01-21T11:04:02-05:00
@ Perry. While I agree they don't need to. It would be smart to make this as successful as possible and stretch goals will help with that. The better this does here the easier time they'll have selling this to retail chains/stores etc.
.
Further... many of the goals can be enhancements to their eventual retail version. They are basically getting a ton of funds to improve their product here and stretch goals are good ways to reflect that. It's not simply a GIVE ME MORE statement. True... I like getting more... but they have a real opportunity here so they should use it to the fullest.
.
And I fully support donating some of the proceeds to shelters... but that would make stretch goals even better since it will help bring more people on board to help more shelters.
Rick S. 2015-01-21T11:04:16-05:00
Why don't people ask KS to donate their % they will get to cat shelters? doubt it will happen, you have to remember the game creators actually profit margin will not be that great after everybody other then them involved takes its cut, then cost of producing the game and S&H.
Also the creator might want to make a note that no Kittens were harmed in the making of this game (a bit of humor there).
Brett MacDonald 2015-01-21T11:05:19-05:00
@Rick. That would be an excellent tag line on the box. Would be hilarious.
"Göttingetten” 2015-01-21T11:05:52-05:00
Congratulations Elan. Am I reading this right, this is your first Kickstarter as a creator? Whoa, what an introduction. Now you have another story to tell.
Rick S. 2015-01-21T11:06:02-05:00
ok how about this a SG card that is a purchase add-on with all proceeds going to the ASPCA ? the card could be JailBird (Distraction card), he he he.
Ryan Sizemore 2015-01-21T11:06:38-05:00
Really looking forward to playing this game. Would be cool if there was a KS backer exclusive explosion card or something.
Donald Meagher 2015-01-21T11:08:26-05:00
When can we expect the Tesla vs. Douchebag expansion set?
Ragel 2015-01-21T11:12:28-05:00
@Rick
True. I was basing the suggestion on the idea that if for example in the original estimate that brought the original goal they were calculating production of 500 decks of cards costing 20$ to produce each, and now it turns out it's not 500 decks of cards but 10 000 decks of cards, the production costs may be reduced by ordering in bulk and whatnot.
However past a certain point this is less and less true.
I love the "no kitten was harmed" line. :p
Chris Scalzo 2015-01-21T11:13:38-05:00
I for one think they do need some SG, to show us love back... Or at least tell us why we are paying so much for just 2 decks of cards (especially now they can mass produce it). Make them plastic or linen blue/black core, add in some cards too... At 310gsm and 196 only cost $7 to make, take out $4 for KS and Amazon fees and they still have $9 for shipping and profit... just show us some love back with some cool SG.
Peter S. 2015-01-21T11:15:13-05:00
@Creator please join the conversation. Backers like to interact with the creators
Rick S. 2015-01-21T11:18:41-05:00
yes Elan your adoring fans want some conversation time, let us know you exist.
I am immediately worried that these guys have all died of heart attacks in the last few hours and nobody will be able to fulfill the rewards. Also that they had a cool idea and will be so overwhelmed with shipping out 100,000's of decks of cards that a tiny mistake in shipping logistics could cause these guys to go broke really fast. Here's to *FINGERS CROSSED* you guys make it all happen the way it should and come out with some money on top and not stuck in a blender, live on stage in front of thousands of angry backers. *Thumbs up*
my aunts cat thinks that its a dog which is why I will never throw a live hand grenade anywhere near that darn cat :-)
Peter Mulholland 2015-01-21T11:24:50-05:00
+1 for @Donald's question "When can we expect the Tesla vs. Douchebag expansion set?"
Brett MacDonald 2015-01-21T11:28:05-05:00
@Joshua. While an interesting idea... programming a game is a lot different than producing a physical card game. Completely different wheel house with different costs and needs. I'd be very surprised if they could swing that with funding here unless one of them could program it themselves (and even then it'd be a BIG undertaking)...
.
Even if they have the funds I think they would be better spent improving the card game and components itself. Save an app/digital version for a separate KS or future endeavor once this game is successful. For now they should just focus on making the card game version as amazing as possible.
@Brett. I totally understand, that being said I would say that this game is already a success and the basic mechanics of the game should be pretty easy for them to implement since at least one of them also worked on the wildly successful cards against humanity
actually i wouldn't mind one bit if they post another KS campaign after this one is over to create an online digital version of the game. If they did that then I would gladly throw more money at them.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2015-01-21T11:38:08-05:00
This game is averaging $944 a minute since I've been keeping track today (last 3 hours)!
Paul Chiu 2015-01-21T11:41:14-05:00
I sent an email yesterday and got a response from Elan within a couple of hours (so if Castle & Beckett ask, they were alive as of 5 PM CST)!
As for his response, no, they do not have any samples from the NSFW deck as they are "TOP SECRET." :-)
I think grenade chewers are not NSFW enough. What would a NSFW kitten do? What do you think?
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2015-01-21T11:46:47-05:00
@Tsveta, I'd like to say, but I'm at work!
marcss 2015-01-21T11:53:19-05:00
Last night at game night my buddy said, "Hey there's this Kickstarter for a game called Exploding Kittens and it's already at one million dollars. And it's just a deck of cards. How is that possible?" To which I replied, "Because people are idiots." And then my buddy said, "It's by The Oatmeal." To which I replied, "Oh, I'd back that."
@marcss lol that is soo true my only complaint is that I found out about this after the collectors edition was sold out
Benjamin Chernik 2015-01-21T12:07:13-05:00
@joshua that's true for pretty much everyone...they were gone in like 20 min from what i've heard...
Honjull 2015-01-21T12:17:05-05:00
@joshua - same here. If they offered more of the collectors editions I'd jump on it the instant I saw it - so long as it didn't sell out again haha
Alien Mole 2015-01-21T12:17:34-05:00
Interesting campaign so far, it certainly looks like. Any word whether fulfilment will be EU-friendly yet?
Chris Ramey 2015-01-21T12:18:01-05:00
More collector's decks please! I will happily up my pledge if you do. Wish I would have known about this earlier.
Kat Robichaud 2015-01-21T12:20:13-05:00
Shut up and take my money. I love you.
jonathan kipps-bolton 2015-01-21T12:21:09-05:00
At this rate we'll run out of people before any SG are introduced
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2015-01-21T12:26:13-05:00
@jonathan, I highly doubt that. With number of backers we already have, these numbers will certainly slow down, but will continue to grow until a mad rush at the end. With these many backers, even word of mouth will increase this thing by a min. of 5% a day, after the initial slow down.
Adam Vetter 2015-01-21T12:33:19-05:00
I hope the stretch goals are really great, like plastic cards and kickstarter exclusive cards. Help Wanted was only $25 and had over 500 cards. This is a much larger order and probably a lot less cards, meaning it should cost a lot less per unit, so the stretch goals should be pretty great.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bacaforrestgames/help-wanted-0…
Elysia 2015-01-21T12:34:31-05:00
I don't understand why people keep suggesting that they ought to donate out of the profits. If they choose to do so, that's great, but they have created a product that obviously has a (frothing, rabid) market eager to pay for it. Why on earth should they not profit from that?
I'd love a signed set too, but the appeal of a 'limited' product is that it IS limited.
Good job guys, I just pledged and you are inching up to $2m! Amazing
Jeremy Cunningham 2015-01-21T12:34:38-05:00
I would like branded card sleeves as a stretch goal
Ryan Miller 2015-01-21T12:41:08-05:00
Out of purely selfish reasons, I hope they just close the kickstarter. I've purchased extra decks for wedding gifts and It'll suck if they get gifted infinity of these and/or already bought it for themselves. Also, shipping delays will blow.
Leila Marcucci 2015-01-21T12:42:32-05:00
I hope there is a polydactyl cat card - with extra powers to match the extra toes!
Adélaïde Savoy 2015-01-21T12:43:11-05:00
This is awesome :D
you've got too much emails so I post it here : You should have made defuse card who involve another player. For exemple: the laser, you can (or not) point it on another player.
Ok, this is kinda mean :P
BruceP - The Chameleon 2015-01-21T12:48:55-05:00
@Ryan Miller,
Close the Kickstarter? Do you mean end the campaign early? Not going to happen. Once a project is started, it either has to go until the end, or be completely canceled. ;)
T.J. Brumfield 2015-01-21T12:49:33-05:00
Cards Against Humanity's Kickstarter was $15 for something like 500 cards.
I backed this immediately because I love the Oatmeal, but right now I'm pretty disappointed.
$20 for 56 cards isn't a great value. I have no idea how many cards are in the NSFW deck for a $15 upgrade, but there aren't enough for it to be its own deck. So I have to mix the decks and separate them later if I want to play with my daughter.
The gameplay looks exceedingly simple to the point that I'm not sure the game itself will be fun. They're nearly at 2000% funding with no stretch goals listed. When you launch a KS, you need those planned a head of time. And when running a campaign, you need to watch it, respond and run your campaign in real time.
Right now it looks like Elan Lee is really going to massively profit from just associating with Matthew Inman. If I pulled my $35 pledge, no one would notice or care. But it is amazingly obvious he hasn't run a campaign before and wasn't prepared to do so. That worries me a bit now on how prepared he is to produce and ship the game.
James K 2015-01-21T12:51:59-05:00
@marcss. Your sentiment is exactly why this how grown so much. Elan and Shane hold their own too.
Rick S. 2015-01-21T12:54:48-05:00
@T.J. Brumfield if you feel that way then why back this project? you have time to pull out, so do it if you feel that way, wish I had a chance to get a refund on another project I was on that went south real fast (and I wasn't only one), so if feel the way you do then back out now while the backing is good.
Adam Lewis - Erudite Esoterist 2015-01-21T12:55:20-05:00
TJ Brumfield - for goodness sake calm down! If you read the second update, you'll see that the stretch goals are coming today. This campaign has been open just 23 hours, and they probably had no idea the demand would be just this high, or the total so high so fast.
Give them time, they're on it, and have said they're looking at the suggestions and comments!
Cal "Blackhawk" Rasmussen 2015-01-21T12:55:20-05:00
Can't wait for the SG's! I don't get why people are hating on them not having the SG's up already. I have seen a lot of companies do this and have gotten funded just find. I have also seen that sometimes with SG it get's peoples hopes up to much and then they are disappointed when it doesn't get funded. If you have a great product you may not need SG's. Just my two cents.
James K 2015-01-21T12:55:23-05:00
@T.J.
I see you are a big fan of pessimism.
Different Game = Different Rules = Different Card Count.
You are probably correct, no one would care if you pulled your $35. If you do not wish to back this product, take you money back.
Also, if you can name one entity that can project and plan for an unpredictable 20,000% increase in the original estimation, well... ... I do not think you can. There is not one company that can plan for that contingency.
Erica Jones 2015-01-21T12:59:20-05:00
Unique and credible. I am thrilled to be a backer for this insanity. Thanks guys, amazing response rate!
Granite26 2015-01-21T12:59:23-05:00
It does seem a little pricey for what you get, but on the other hand, the cards are all going to be colored art, versus b+w text, so comparing with CAH isn't really fair
Brett MacDonald 2015-01-21T12:59:34-05:00
@TJ. Some interesting and valid points. Pessimistic... but valid.
.
@Rick. Many people back projects if they like the concept... and wait until the last week or so to pull their pledge if they decide the value isn't there. Pretty standard KS affair. If nothing is added by the end of this project I bet some people will decide to wait for retail... because they will be able to get it their cheaper (likely).
.
@ James. While true that they could never have expected it to explode this quickly... they had to know they'd easily pass $10,000... so it is odd they had no SG prepared. We'll see what they post today though!
.
And to clarify I am not saying I agree with TJ. But he has some valid concerns.
Agreave 2015-01-21T12:59:54-05:00
@James K +1
Ryan Miller 2015-01-21T13:00:05-05:00
@BruceP - I figured that was the case...and also figured it wouldn't be simply stopped even if it could. (I mean who would be like, "Sorry, I don't want more money.")
@T.J. - Very valid points, but CaH had extremely simple cards and rules. Munchkin might be something more comparable, which is more like 100+ cards and <$20. Munchkin is also already mass produced so the initial costs would be lower.
Granite26 2015-01-21T13:04:17-05:00
The price can't come down as efficiency of scale goes up. Hopefully we'll see a few more cards, though. Maybe target eventually getting another player's worth of cards out of a deck
David Grundler 2015-01-21T13:04:49-05:00
@BruceP - Not true. The Pebble Kickstarter was closed early.
David Grundler 2015-01-21T13:06:54-05:00
For the people whining about stretch goals, the point of a stretch goal is to obtain more funding. Exploding Kittens isn't having any problems right now getting people to contribute.
BruceP - The Chameleon 2015-01-21T13:07:35-05:00
@David Grundler,
Uh, no it didn't. It ran for more than 30 days, in fact.
Cal "Blackhawk" Rasmussen 2015-01-21T13:09:21-05:00
You're getting 2 million dollars and are not willing to make any translations? Are you serious?
Chris Scalzo 2015-01-21T13:16:41-05:00
SG are not only to get more funding, but to keep backers in... at least in tabletop KS world.
Peter S. 2015-01-21T13:17:15-05:00
@Markus the creator hasn't said anything about languages
Risto 2015-01-21T13:17:42-05:00
Ohh, you have to add more signed versions now!
But just to check, by pledging 85 (2*35 + shipping), I will receive 2 decks (there was no option to choose the amount of decks).
Thomas 2015-01-21T13:18:12-05:00
@Peter S & Markus: Yes they have, it will be English only at first.
JusticeBolt 2015-01-21T13:18:35-05:00
@Markus: Yeah.. no translations is not cool at all. Especially with 2 millions.
Thomas 2015-01-21T13:18:43-05:00
But they have not said anything about stretch goals, yet.
Peter S. 2015-01-21T13:18:48-05:00
Repeating my suggestion to have at least a multi pack tier with cheaper international shipping.
Adam Lewis - Erudite Esoterist 2015-01-21T13:19:11-05:00
They have, Thomas - they've said stretch goals will be announced today. We're about exactly at the 24 hour mark, have patience people!
Peter S. 2015-01-21T13:19:42-05:00
They haven't commented all day. They have a lot to think about and respond to
Adam Lewis - Erudite Esoterist 2015-01-21T13:21:09-05:00
They're about or 8 hours behind you, Peter. That means it's no later than lunch time their time, and they have a heck of a lot to do right now remember. Give. It. Time.
Jeremy D. Huntsinger 2015-01-21T13:21:56-05:00
Guys, guys... settle down a bit, I'm sure this entire thing has literally exploded in their faces. Let them get some time to review the information we've all given them and start coming up with some really cool options. I'm just hoping they saw my comment about themed decks to choose from both for regular and nsfw versions. I want a deck that has foreign travels, or at least Japan and Kitten riding Monster Hornets.
Thomas 2015-01-21T13:23:02-05:00
It's not like they can respond to the comments with the huge amount of pledgers we have here, even with just a hundred comments - a single response from the creators and EVERYONE will expect an immediate answer. So i understand why they are quiet and they are probably brewing up a secret huge surprise for us all to enjoy!
Grace Lezetc 2015-01-21T13:23:22-05:00
People, slow down and give them some breathing room here!! It's not even been a full 24 hours!! I'm sure they never expected to make 2 million before day 3!! What they have offered us already is AMAZING and should be appreciated as such. Don't demand things just because they've made more money than they hoped for.
Xavier Atha Claës 2015-01-21T13:23:52-05:00
1 day, nearly 2 millions. :D
Thomas 2015-01-21T13:24:42-05:00
@Grace Lezetc: Well said, it's like people expect millionaires to just give away stuff for free because they have money. I don't see people knocking on Bill Gates door asking for more stuff for free....
Brett MacDonald 2015-01-21T13:25:03-05:00
@Jeremy... that would also be a very fun SG! A bunch of mini themed expansions! And I really hope they do a cardboard box distraction
BruceP - The Chameleon 2015-01-21T13:25:30-05:00
@Thomas,
You may not see it, but I bet Gates gets TONS of requests for donations. ;)
Thomas 2015-01-21T13:26:50-05:00
@BruceP: That is quite a solid point there ;-)
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2015-01-21T13:29:21-05:00
I think they should do an add on for all those that think they should donate to cat shelters etc. that way those backers could out their money where their mouths are. Just saying...
Jeremy D. Huntsinger 2015-01-21T13:29:56-05:00
@Brett, it also I think is better than just having them have us buy two decks to get up to 8players. I think an expansion specifically for 8players would be really cool as a stretch goal. Especially considering I"m already willing to buy two decks.
Holy crap, where did 50,000 people come from....? :c)
Brett MacDonald 2015-01-21T13:31:25-05:00
Lots of people are jumping on the people asking for SG. The reality of the situation is... if they don't offer SG they will not grow as fast as they could otherwise... AND they will lose backers near the end of the project. You don't have to agree with them... but many backers will drop out if the current value remains the same (I'm not one of them... but it will happen). The project will still have more than enough funding... just not nearly as much as it could and the game won't be as awesome as it could be
.
Do I feel entitled to SG? No
.
Do I think they'd help the project a lot and they have the funds for them? Yes.
.
Do I think they'd make this game more awesome? Yes.
.
Will a more awesome game sell better in the long run and help the creator? Yes.
.
If done right... SG are really a win/win for all. They can also go horribly wrong though so I'm glad they are taking their time and thinking it out. I just wish they had done it before. For someone who has backed 137 projects (the creator)... plenty of which were games... I think he would know to do so. That is my only complaint and a pretty minor one really. Very happy with the project though and looking forward to what they come up with :- )
Agree with @Brett. And hoping we will see the team in the comments section as this progresses. One of the reasons I like KS so much. And the way to build a real fan base.
BruceP - The Chameleon 2015-01-21T13:36:45-05:00
@David Grundler,
Which isn't the same thing as stopping the campaign early, which you can't do unless you cancel the whole thing. ;)
Anna 2015-01-21T13:37:03-05:00
They're working with CAH for fulfillment logistics. I am not at all worried.
David Grundler 2015-01-21T13:38:21-05:00
@BruceP how is not the same thing as stopping it early if you eliminate the ability for anyone to actually contribute from that point on? Sure, you have to wait until the time is up, but you have effectively froze future contributions, which is what the original poster was referring to.
Stretch goal: best quality for cards to make sure they don't wear out too soon! At this amount of money, it would be a d*** move to manufacture some cheapo cards :)

@Joshua could be.
I think that they should use some of the extra money they raised from this to create an online digital version of the game :-)
KABOOOOMM.... MEOW
my aunts cat thinks that its a dog which is why I will never throw a live hand grenade anywhere near that darn cat :-)
+1 for @Donald's question "When can we expect the Tesla vs. Douchebag expansion set?"
This game is averaging $944 a minute since I've been keeping track today (last 3 hours)!
@Tsveta, I'd like to say, but I'm at work!
@marcss lol that is soo true my only complaint is that I found out about this after the collectors edition was sold out
@joshua that's true for pretty much everyone...they were gone in like 20 min from what i've heard...
@joshua - same here. If they offered more of the collectors editions I'd jump on it the instant I saw it - so long as it didn't sell out again haha
Interesting campaign so far, it certainly looks like. Any word whether fulfilment will be EU-friendly yet?
More collector's decks please! I will happily up my pledge if you do. Wish I would have known about this earlier.
Shut up and take my money. I love you.
At this rate we'll run out of people before any SG are introduced
@jonathan, I highly doubt that. With number of backers we already have, these numbers will certainly slow down, but will continue to grow until a mad rush at the end. With these many backers, even word of mouth will increase this thing by a min. of 5% a day, after the initial slow down.
I don't understand why people keep suggesting that they ought to donate out of the profits. If they choose to do so, that's great, but they have created a product that obviously has a (frothing, rabid) market eager to pay for it. Why on earth should they not profit from that?
I'd love a signed set too, but the appeal of a 'limited' product is that it IS limited.
Good job guys, I just pledged and you are inching up to $2m! Amazing
I would like branded card sleeves as a stretch goal
Out of purely selfish reasons, I hope they just close the kickstarter. I've purchased extra decks for wedding gifts and It'll suck if they get gifted infinity of these and/or already bought it for themselves. Also, shipping delays will blow.
I hope there is a polydactyl cat card - with extra powers to match the extra toes!
This is awesome :D
you've got too much emails so I post it here : You should have made defuse card who involve another player. For exemple: the laser, you can (or not) point it on another player.
Ok, this is kinda mean :P
@Ryan Miller,
Close the Kickstarter? Do you mean end the campaign early? Not going to happen. Once a project is started, it either has to go until the end, or be completely canceled. ;)
@marcss. Your sentiment is exactly why this how grown so much. Elan and Shane hold their own too.
@T.J. Brumfield if you feel that way then why back this project? you have time to pull out, so do it if you feel that way, wish I had a chance to get a refund on another project I was on that went south real fast (and I wasn't only one), so if feel the way you do then back out now while the backing is good.
@T.J.
Unique and credible. I am thrilled to be a backer for this insanity. Thanks guys, amazing response rate!
It does seem a little pricey for what you get, but on the other hand, the cards are all going to be colored art, versus b+w text, so comparing with CAH isn't really fair
@James K +1
The price can't come down as efficiency of scale goes up. Hopefully we'll see a few more cards, though. Maybe target eventually getting another player's worth of cards out of a deck
@BruceP - Not true. The Pebble Kickstarter was closed early.
For the people whining about stretch goals, the point of a stretch goal is to obtain more funding. Exploding Kittens isn't having any problems right now getting people to contribute.
@David Grundler,
Uh, no it didn't. It ran for more than 30 days, in fact.
@David, Amen!
um wth is going on here?!?! 2 mil already LOL
For those of you saying CAH is not a good comparison look at this Kickstarter:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bacaforrestgames/help-wanted-0…
More than 500 cards all in color and only $25.
You're getting 2 million dollars and are not willing to make any translations? Are you serious?
SG are not only to get more funding, but to keep backers in... at least in tabletop KS world.
@Markus the creator hasn't said anything about languages
Ohh, you have to add more signed versions now!
But just to check, by pledging 85 (2*35 + shipping), I will receive 2 decks (there was no option to choose the amount of decks).
@Peter S & Markus: Yes they have, it will be English only at first.
@Markus: Yeah.. no translations is not cool at all. Especially with 2 millions.
But they have not said anything about stretch goals, yet.
Repeating my suggestion to have at least a multi pack tier with cheaper international shipping.
They have, Thomas - they've said stretch goals will be announced today. We're about exactly at the 24 hour mark, have patience people!
They haven't commented all day. They have a lot to think about and respond to
They're about or 8 hours behind you, Peter. That means it's no later than lunch time their time, and they have a heck of a lot to do right now remember. Give. It. Time.
It's not like they can respond to the comments with the huge amount of pledgers we have here, even with just a hundred comments - a single response from the creators and EVERYONE will expect an immediate answer. So i understand why they are quiet and they are probably brewing up a secret huge surprise for us all to enjoy!
People, slow down and give them some breathing room here!! It's not even been a full 24 hours!! I'm sure they never expected to make 2 million before day 3!! What they have offered us already is AMAZING and should be appreciated as such. Don't demand things just because they've made more money than they hoped for.
1 day, nearly 2 millions. :D
@Grace Lezetc: Well said, it's like people expect millionaires to just give away stuff for free because they have money. I don't see people knocking on Bill Gates door asking for more stuff for free....
@Jeremy... that would also be a very fun SG! A bunch of mini themed expansions! And I really hope they do a cardboard box distraction
@Thomas,
You may not see it, but I bet Gates gets TONS of requests for donations. ;)
@BruceP: That is quite a solid point there ;-)
I think they should do an add on for all those that think they should donate to cat shelters etc. that way those backers could out their money where their mouths are. Just saying...
@Brett, it also I think is better than just having them have us buy two decks to get up to 8players. I think an expansion specifically for 8players would be really cool as a stretch goal. Especially considering I"m already willing to buy two decks.
Holy crap, where did 50,000 people come from....? :c)
Very happy with the project though and looking forward to what they come up with :- )
http://theoatmeal.com/blog/kickstartmart *crosses fingers*
@Pete. Hahahahaha. is he the one who first made that? I've seen it floating around before. That's awesome!
@Rod Mitchell: Also, Cat shelters need support locally, it's not as easy as just donating somewhere and have it automatically distributed.
@Thomas, exactly!
@BruceP - With about 10 days left in Pebble's campaign, they added quantity caps on all of their rewards levels, effectively marking everything as sold out. Yes, it went the whole time, but they froze it at about 10 days out. https://www.techdirt.com/blog/casestudies/articles/20120514/00184818899/biggest-kickstarter-project-ever-surpasses-10-million-cuts-off-funding.shtml
Agree with @Brett. And hoping we will see the team in the comments section as this progresses. One of the reasons I like KS so much. And the way to build a real fan base.
@David Grundler,
Which isn't the same thing as stopping the campaign early, which you can't do unless you cancel the whole thing. ;)
They're working with CAH for fulfillment logistics. I am not at all worried.
@BruceP how is not the same thing as stopping it early if you eliminate the ability for anyone to actually contribute from that point on? Sure, you have to wait until the time is up, but you have effectively froze future contributions, which is what the original poster was referring to.
@all dont feed the trolls
"haters gonna hate"
2 million any second now...
2 million....
