I was kinda tricked into G+ via GMail. Not actually using it, but for some sharings from my brother and a colleage at work.

Hehe, we were doing feasibility reports and long term longevity of the business model reports on eBay back in 1997. Most of it's growth is due to PayPal though. That and the new found e-Storefront model for businesses like Target, Staples, Rockwell and other companies that want to sell their refurbed/clearance material fast.

I have to say that apart from the invasive data gathering GMail is simply damn convenient and has one of the most easy interfaces for web based email that I know of.
Ever since I am using more than 1 PC (I am now at 4 devices I use every day) I switched completely to webbased email. Just damn convenient.

I knew long before the problems arose that social media could come back to bite you in the bum even for jobs. My group stuck to yahoo post boards, which was an early version of twitter with strict membership limits.
