A little story: On my way home, someone noticed the book I was reading (A Philip K. Dick novels of short stories) and asked how I liked it. We discussed which stories had been turned into films and what was different in the film version.
That right there is one of the reasons why I love paper books. If I had been using an e-reader he probably wouldn't have noticed what I was reading at all. Usually a person has to be right next to you, reading what you have open and that is kinda rude. Like reading what is on someone's phone screen.
So I say "Viva la paper novels!"

@Devin : Projects that get funded tend to get lot of attention at the very beginning and 48 hours before the end (because of the reminder). Between that it's usually more quiet. This is a special project :)
We also spike periodically. We get pretty big highs for backing here, no where near our start but still... our end will probably take off like a batman in hot tub out of hell.

hey guys, not sure if this will just get lost in all the noise... but, as happy as i am to back this project, one of the reasons this game appeals to me is because i like portable card games. I am only interested in buying the base game and would love to know if that means i am going to end up with a box twice as big as the game? if so then that's a awful waste of space and the box will only get binned as i will not be travelling round with it. can you make an option for people that just want a normal cheapo box that just fits the base game. thanks.

I'm (reasonably) sure they'll still have tuck cases though.

@Oliver...a good question to message the EK team about. There are probably others who just backed 1 deck of cards at the $20 level. You could message Elan here with your inquiry and also send a tweet.
@EricA: That does depend on how the cards are made and what they are made of, but they did state that they would be the size of standard playing card so you're probably right.

Well, I did assume (yes, yes I know) that since they are stated to be the size of normal playing cards and there's 56 (a standard poker sheet) that they'd fit. Since Bicycle are all linen with air pockets, the box should be thick enough regardless of material.
