I would have suggested Calgary in July, but we have the Calgary Stampede every year(even 2013 when the grounds were flooded, took a week of 24hour cleaning/fixing to get it back to running order), and it's already super busy/expensive to come at that time.

We run into problems going up that way trying to get out of Hampton Roads. There's always some sort of unforeseen backup trying to escape Hampton/NN that ties up the roadways for a solid 20 minutes.
