@Creeper: Can you make me the salted caramel cake you made awhile back?
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:15:33-05:00
@Geist - i know. I was heartsick last year when it was that whole polar vortex insanity. I ordered all these mylar sheets, and tried to line the doghouse with them, and put a bunch of stuff in there so it would be cozier for him -less room for cold air. I sealed off the entrance more. He walked up to it and just stared at it. For two days.... I put food in there, he just looked at me like "Nope." So i had to take down the mylar (the crinkling scared him), and unblock the entrance. He ran in immediately.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:17:17-05:00
Geist - I have read that cats tend to forgo their fighting and cuddle together when they're cold. But I find that hard to believe since I still hear fighting from time to time. I've gotten all panicked and looked out the window. Then laugh because I see kittykitty stick his head out of the doghouse and look up like "Those damn cats woke me up."
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:17:44-05:00
@Potatten - hahahaha.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:19:00-05:00
He ran in immediately.
@Creeper: Wow. He was a really cautious cat. A lot of the feral cats don't trust humans no matter what kindness you give them. Some will warm up to you but those are usually the ones who had owners before.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:20:11-05:00
Chocolate frosting. *drools*
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:21:27-05:00
Geist- He is by far the biggest scaredy cat of them all. He's afraid of steam. I heat his food up for him when it's cold out. I usually put it on the window sill, and because of the light - he cant see the steam. One frigid day, I put it in his house - black background. He ran up to it, then backed away slowly. Came to the window, stared at me, walked back - up against the opposite wall and stared at it like it was a demon.
Our outdoor cats slowly took to us, with the exception of two cats so friendly even a dog that doesn't like cats couldn't not like (proven fact). BRB headed out....
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:23:26-05:00
When the steam finally stopped, he crept up slowly and had a moment of... "oh.... oh wait... it's food. ok. cool" and dove in. *sigh*
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:26:05-05:00
Only one has come inside - she actually snuck in under the screen door (which you can see in pic). Scared the unicorn poo out of me when I saw a cat in the apartment!! She would chase the laser pointer around the kitchen, and started to eat treats out of my hand. Sweet little baby. But I haven't seen her in awhile. :( I'm just hoping someone took her in. It's all can deal with thinking.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:30:58-05:00
@Creeper: lol, your cat at least trust you enough that he keeps coming back to you for food. A few years ago a small cat was meowing in the cold (I think this was around late February). He was under a car and I had to go to work. When I came back, I saw him and was surprised that he started to come up to me when I called to him.
He was cautious at first. He kept circling around and around, getting closer each time until he finally rubbed up against my leg. I got him some cat food (which he scarfed down). Each day I would call to him and after week he got use to the sound of my voice. I named him Rocky after the flying squirrel cartoon character. He even started hanging out in front of the apartment building that I lived in.
I found out later that the reason why he took to me so quickly is that his last owners dumped him outside when they got evicted. One day he didn't come when I called. I got so worried, thinking that something bad had happened to him. One of the neighbors said she took him to the local animal shelter. I hope that is what she did and I hope that Rocky is now living a comfortable and happy life.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:34:02-05:00
Awhhh, Rocky!!! So glad you took care of him. I just cannot...cannot... fathom people who just dump pets like that. Especially in urban areas. I certainly hope that Rocky has a nice forever home.
I can kind of see it happening in the country- plenty of rodents/birds for them to catch, safe places to sleep. My parents now have a barn cat - Gideon- and he's insanely ridiculously affectionate.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:35:07-05:00
Wow- Unicorn Poo got a huge boost! They may actually be funded! Oof...i hate this. They are so close. Less than $1,000 to go with 39 hours left. It's a tough one, with low price tiers. But so cute.
Finally readyready. Must he some GMO. They are like the day we bought them.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:37:24-05:00
Mmmm...GMO potatoes. :)
@Geist- Yeah, Kittykitty does have some trust. He used to run out of the the yard if I opened the back door. Now i can garden and he'll stay in the yard- just at a safe distance. And he never used to come to the window. He'll eat from there, and I can stand nearby - just not sudden movements. I've tried staying low, and do the whole "slow blink" thing at him. He reciprocates. That's all i need. :)
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:42:01-05:00
Awww@Creeper.
There was a show called "Animal Cops" that would follow a couple of cops around as they investigated animal cruelty calls. The conditions of some of the animals broke my heart. I had to stop watching because I would get so mad.
If I were one of those cops, I would be so tempted to come back and beat the living daylights out of the owners.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:43:27-05:00
I could have sworn the Unicorn Poo wouldn't come close to getting funded. I like odd things but I just couldn't justify brightly colored poo. (Goes against my horror decor)
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:43:45-05:00
Idle- That looks soooooo yummy - and a perfect meal for this snowy day!
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:44:12-05:00
*licks the computer screen* Idle, that looks soooo good.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T16:45:11-05:00
@Geist- Re:Show - No way i could watch that. nope. Hell no. Could not handle.
Re:Poo - yeah, they had a retailer drop $3K - so it got a huge boost. And now that it's in the 48 hour mark, and proabbly close to funding - they'll get a jump. I really want them to be successful, but I just can't afford to back another project, especially a decorative one!
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T16:48:13-05:00
While looking up Unicorn Poo I see that there is a game called "Cat Quest". Pity I can't afford anything else (the game with the expansion deck is $40 not including shipping).
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T17:24:20-05:00
Man, i feel bad for the Prynt people on here! They have answered people's questions a million times over. It's is literally "asked" "answered" on repeat!! They have posted a comment of FAQ's answering everyone's questions... and nearly the next comment is the question asked again! I would not have the patience!
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T17:26:21-05:00
One or two people have finally jumped in to help. I so want to yell on there. No. one campaign at a time.
Damn I missed her, oh well....and that is also one of the reasons the EK team loved(s) us Creeper!
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T17:29:06-05:00
Seriously! It's like that day with the questions about upping pledges, and boxes, etc... but i Feel like it's so much worse over there. People on here *did* have to sort through all of our commentary, so I get why it was asked a lot. But there's no extraneous commentary on there.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-03-03T17:29:14-05:00
Ok, I'm out of here. The supervisor is making me want to hit him so I've GOT to go. See you kitties when I get in.
We are in a location that the locals of Houston call "Gun Point", it's actually called "Green Point". Apparently there was a body outside the building when they decided to get the current office.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T18:52:56-05:00
oh! well... that's.... lovely. Geeze.... Yeah. Glad you get to head home tomorrow!
Stay safe out there, since you're apparently in the hood.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T19:28:54-05:00
So - for anyone around- I created a new topic on the main forum board for Actual exploding kittens updates. Elan sends his regards, "Hello!" and that he's up to his eyeballs in card production - which we can all understand and appreciate. :)
I did send it JUST before the not so humble remark.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T19:41:31-05:00
Yeah, i saw that Cha! said she wasn't as comment-y as before. I did experience the whole Prof F attack of stench on Cheetah yesterday. Surprised blondie disappeared. Thought some people were gonna hang around more often! Especially the super chatty ones!
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T19:41:48-05:00
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T19:58:17-05:00
I've been trying to think of ways EK can have fun with the whole community while we wait for shipment. Not necessarily at this moment, but in a month or two, once production terms are more in place, etc.
I have too, I have not made much head way though -.-
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T20:03:44-05:00
I thought of some sort of ... not sure how to phrase it... I've seen it done on twitter before. Pick a city, drop clues to lead people to an actual specific location-winner gets some sort of prize. Bonus game, signed sketch from Matthew.
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-03T20:04:56-05:00
Sorta like Geocaching?
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-03T20:05:07-05:00
Good evening All ....
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T20:05:07-05:00
Do one in LA, Seattle, Chicago, NYC, Philly.. etc - even overseas. Some guy was doing that in new york, with a cash prize. Every hour he'd drop another hint of where it was hidden. Was thinking corps members could help behind the scenes- placing the "golden ticket" so to speak... waiting there (if possible) to see who finds it.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T20:06:53-05:00
GCoD - though im not toooo familiar with that, yes, I think so. They'd be on at landmark type-locations. Or done in an amazing race fashion - getting to one place - seeing another clue, etc. But i think that might be too detailed for a team that is already quite busy. Tweeting out a clue every hour could be more feasible.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T20:09:09-05:00
It's already such a big gaming community - things like that I think would be well-received. I'm sure some people would be annoyed if it's not in their home town. But we do have so many corps people spread out, as well as people that the EK team know personally that could help.
Well we've got core corps members in various places that would love to help. We could use our forum as a discussion board to help privatize that portion.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T20:12:45-05:00
I haven't brought it up with Elan just yet - letting the production dust settle a bit more. I think if he's interested, then discussion should probably stick to email only.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-03-03T20:17:11-05:00
well, thank you sir.
Christopher Goodgame 2015-03-03T20:22:38-05:00
lol GM! Technically the area is called Greenspoint but so many people got robbed at gunpoint that it earned that nickname. Good call on those who gave you that advice. heh. There's plenty to do if you had transportation but without...the Internet and lots of sleep will probably be your best friends.
@Christopher Goodgame: Yeah, I've been watching AMC a lot at the hotel. Right now it's Gladiator. I've also been online chatting with friends quite a bit.
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-03T20:55:44-05:00

Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-03T21:03:23-05:00
I am also having a lot of fun poking a stick in a scammer here on KS. He's doing the "Lix Dice" campaign, and is almost certainly a crook. I've made some pointed comments there, and reported the campaign to KS officially.
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-03T21:05:19-05:00
I also got a hold of the legal department at Steve Jackson Games and reported the Illuminati game here to them. The fellow here seems to think he invented the game, or rather, his 16 year old nephew did. Funny, I recall owning that game when it was released in 1982.

TTYL Geist!
Very good point, Dr. P.
So quiet.
It is fairly quiet. And I should be finding some food....I am getting hungry after all.
Are you still in Texas?
Yeah, we were supposed to leave Thursday, but since we are ahead of schedule, we're leaving tomorrow.
Are you grateful for that? seems like there's not much to do where you are.
We are in a location that the locals of Houston call "Gun Point", it's actually called "Green Point". Apparently there was a body outside the building when they decided to get the current office.
oh! well... that's.... lovely. Geeze.... Yeah. Glad you get to head home tomorrow!
I was warned before coming down here that we shouldn't walk around outside at night...and there isn't much to do at the hotel itself.
I'm sure that motivated everyone to finish ahead of time. :/
Possibly. Though I haven't seen anything that would be considered dangerous down here yet...other than crossing the road.
Just the lack of any distractions, i'm sure. If it had been elsewhere, who knows? How frigid will it be back home?
It was -17C this morning apparently. Not sure where my phone is right now...otherwise I would check.
egghh....
Where in Texas ARE you GM?
Stay safe out there, since you're apparently in the hood.

Creeper over here getting big updates from the man himself :-P
Creeper is special
Tis true: Her, CB, and LZ are totally our glue.
haha...it's only because I sent an additional screen shot I had missed.
but..um... yeah... sure. I'm f*ckin' awesome.
#ohsomodest
I wonder how DDD is? I haven't seen him in here for a bit.
Potatten - please tell me you sent the modest comment before you saw my awesome remark. Because the timing would have been brilliant.
*stares out window* i could hide soooo many bodies in the piles of snow out there.... granted... they'd show back up soon enough....
Cha! hasn't been on too much either. She said everything was ok though. Blondie vanished, but F has been coming back around.
I did send it JUST before the not so humble remark.

What was the snap shot you forgot to send? We should compile those for the KC site too.
it was us surpassing Pono. It was one I had previously overlooked because i couldn't figure out the significance.
