Not studying medicine. I am an actor and one of my regular gigs is working at Northwestern medical school in Chicago. Currently I am working as a trainer with Physicians Assistant students. I give them information then we role play different scenarios. The latest is "Delivering bad news". It's going to be a difficult day for me.

I;ve never had what I would call a freeze from a student, a hesitation, sure. But never a full on freeze.
How I react depends entire on the student. I nearly lost it and put one kid up against the wall in the room (BIG violation of the rules, not allowed to touch the student, not allowed to curse at the student) because he kept referring to my dead wife as "the body".

Oh and as for this project. This is my first KS project I've ever backed and even I can tell how it works. This project has been pretty straight forward and that's one of the main reasons why I backed it.
It has all the necessary indications, to me, that it will deliver on it's promises.
@Catz: THIS project is straight forward. I'm glad it's your first, because I've seen a lot get over complicated and end up hurting themselves. I've only actually backed three myself, but I know people still waiting on promised trinkets and dealing with delays.

Not necessarily @Catz. It's why we do this work. The kid (I call them baby docs) has been trained to think in a certain way to protect his own humanity. He needed what we call a "teaching moment" to call attention to a short coming. Everything is video recorded in the room from two cameras. When an encounter is over I have a checklist to fill out, the student has a short test to take, and then ther mentors take them aside for a one on one debrief.

You'd be surprised how many doctors I've met and tried to small talk new advances in medicine and they just fluff you off like you don't know what you're talking about and the information is impertinent to them in the firs place.
(Hell, I've had arguments with doctors who claim that the body doesn't create it's own Vitamin D............)

@Catz. I would NOT be surprised at the number of awful docs you've had. Believe that. It's one of the reasons I do this work. IT has to do with how they are trained and the docs coming out of Northwestern are doing very well. I have worked with students that I would not want as a patient. What is not commonly known outside this industry is that if your mentors don't think you have the skills to deal with patients, they can put you into what is called "the research track". They still get to be docs, but they will never be hands on, one on one with a human patient.
Even if that were true, supply and demand, as well as the laws of our Nation, say good for them. They had an idea, they get to profit from idea. THE END. It's in the constitution. Article 1, section 8, clause 8. Any money made is irrelevant to any issue you're talking about, because we wanted a product, and they are giving it to us.

I do find it comical that is "cost" analysis reference is to bridge and poker playing cards and not to custom image cards.

@Geist. No, I always play the patient. THEY are the doctors, and need to learn to perform in that role. Delivering bad news is always a bad day for me because I usually have to break down multiple times and that takes a lot out of me.

I have SO many stories about this work. You would not believe, especially the times Ive had to be the surviving spouse being told about his wife's death. That one ALWAYS winds up giving me stories to tell.
Don't worry so much about following on Twitter at the moment. We stand a much better chance of reaching the stretch goal by "liking" on FB.

Those of us that have been here since the beginning have almost all received responses through direct messaging.

I;ve never had what I would call a freeze from a student, a hesitation, sure. But never a full on freeze.
How I react depends entire on the student. I nearly lost it and put one kid up against the wall in the room (BIG violation of the rules, not allowed to touch the student, not allowed to curse at the student) because he kept referring to my dead wife as "the body".
As for how KS works? It's also disrespectful to spew outlandish demands when it was clear from the beginning this was a simply KS project not looking to wow on the side of the stretch goals.

@AL: Quit being silly. This is a comment section, we comment on the project here. The creators stop by and say things, but it's far easier to just actually contact them. They are buried and swamped with emails and tweets, don't expect them to be able to so easily find your buried begging. Further more you are FAR from the first to ask for this. I had know idea that schools/ hospitals would have that kind of training. I can see the use. Some doctors have no bedside manner.
Oh and as for this project. This is my first KS project I've ever backed and even I can tell how it works. This project has been pretty straight forward and that's one of the main reasons why I backed it.
It has all the necessary indications, to me, that it will deliver on it's promises.
@Catz: THIS project is straight forward. I'm glad it's your first, because I've seen a lot get over complicated and end up hurting themselves. I've only actually backed three myself, but I know people still waiting on promised trinkets and dealing with delays.
Not necessarily @Catz. It's why we do this work. The kid (I call them baby docs) has been trained to think in a certain way to protect his own humanity. He needed what we call a "teaching moment" to call attention to a short coming. Everything is video recorded in the room from two cameras. When an encounter is over I have a checklist to fill out, the student has a short test to take, and then ther mentors take them aside for a one on one debrief.
I'm not joking either, my main reason was because I judged the creators as having a reputation you could rely on.

Backers also have to understand that the creators are getting bombarded with media interview requests. What is it now, upwards of a dozen TV spots now for them not including Youtube, newspaper and net news requests?

#Geist. Communication skill is 90% of what this is about. Because all these kids are the top 1% scholastically they often have very diminished personal/social/communication skills. They are almost all spooky smart, but they often have trouble communcationg. We help them with that.

You are very forgiving. I think you're underestimating their dismissive nature and over confidence in their schooling. You'd be surprised how many doctors I've met and tried to small talk new advances in medicine and they just fluff you off like you don't know what you're talking about and the information is impertinent to them in the firs place.
(Hell, I've had arguments with doctors who claim that the body doesn't create it's own Vitamin D............)

@Catz. I would NOT be surprised at the number of awful docs you've had. Believe that. It's one of the reasons I do this work. IT has to do with how they are trained and the docs coming out of Northwestern are doing very well. I have worked with students that I would not want as a patient. What is not commonly known outside this industry is that if your mentors don't think you have the skills to deal with patients, they can put you into what is called "the research track". They still get to be docs, but they will never be hands on, one on one with a human patient.
Even if that were true, supply and demand, as well as the laws of our Nation, say good for them. They had an idea, they get to profit from idea. THE END. It's in the constitution. Article 1, section 8, clause 8. Any money made is irrelevant to any issue you're talking about, because we wanted a product, and they are giving it to us.

Since this isn't a store and we are backers and we are supposed to ask questions, they should tell us how much it going to cost.
Since leaving my life as an engineer 10 years ago it is the only work I do that adds back to society. As an entertainer my work, for the most part, is to make people happy. And that certainly has worth and value. But it doesn't really contribute to society. This work does in my opinion.
Granted Tarot are slightly bigger but the cost difference is due to the complex image printing, not the 10-20% size increase.
