And about the tripe: I know that once they are done, masses of other ingredients mask the smell, but I would still know how they smelled about an hour ago....
Know what's really boring? Watching over someone as they process a payroll on their own...and you can't be doing anything else. Good thing we are taking a few minutes breather while waiting for stuff.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T11:46:24-05:00
@Potatten: Did you see the documentary "Hiro Dreams of Sushi"? I think you would enjoy it.
Aaa no. You'll not see me make it. Thank God there are pubs that make it.
Peter 'General Calculus' W. 2015-02-24T11:47:09-05:00
@GM, aren't payrolls automatized nowadays? After all that's what IBM actually built their first computers for.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T11:47:37-05:00
@GM: What is really boring is trying to explain to people why their travel expense can't go through because they f'd it up again this week even though you told them what to do last month.
Anyway, my floaty-facefooky-notification research has led me to another crash, and as I have no power or will to check where did I do wrong, I'm flying away.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T11:48:28-05:00
Get off my tuna!
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T11:48:45-05:00
@General Calc: Not ours. We have manual adjustments, and we use a system that was not built for payroll...though it has all the required payroll components(go figure, right?)
@Geist: I got tired of explaining to people how to properly do their expense reports, and to ensure that the tax is CLEARLY visible on the receipts they submit with it so we can cross check...I finally decided to just fix everything myself rather than explain it every week to the same people.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T11:52:29-05:00
@Idle: The texture of salmon is wrong to me no matter which way you prepare it. It simply taste...dense. Fish should feel light on the tongue.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T11:54:00-05:00
@GM: Believe me. I know how you feel. It got to the point I would just ask enough questions so that I could do the report myself and then submit it on their behalf. I'd have to give them a heads up since they also get a notification but it was faster to do it this way. It would still piss me off though.
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-02-24T12:01:06-05:00
And don't listen to anyone telling you that catfish is best fried. No. The only way to di catfish is to marinade it for a couple of days and then smoke it for several hours
Only way to do fish, is with a flamethrower and melting it into oblivion...and that's for all fish.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T12:02:40-05:00
Fried catfish is good eating. :-P on you
Mike Kabala 2015-02-24T12:03:15-05:00
@GM, no, they keep talking about weird food. That doesn't make me hungry. THe closest they came was when they talked about the Big Mac, but they thought it was made of cardboard and I prefer Quarter Pounders anyways. None of this "port wine reduction" stuff! (I got that last one from last night's "Mike and Molly" episode.)
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T12:03:40-05:00
This project was a lot more fun when people talked about something other than food.
And what would you have us talk about? World peace? Global warming? The benefits of thongs? (Already done and there are no benefits)
@Cheetah: If it comes from McDonald's, it is poison. Every time I eat anything from there, I get sick. And only from there too. Doesn't matter where in the world it is, I always get sick eating at one.
I'm waiting until AFTER I get back from Houston, and probably end of March before I can order anything from the Corp Store. Possibly even later than that.
Mike Kabala 2015-02-24T12:13:00-05:00
Interestingly though, in my younger days I went vegetarian for about six months. I discovered all sorts of wonderful foods and even went to a vegetarian potluck once a month. Eventually I noticed that some of the most strict vegetarians were as skinny as a rail and looked like death warmed over. ... That kind of steered me away from vegetarianism. I do still enjoy vegetarian food. I've just decided to keep eating meat.

Oh, Potatten, I'm still busy making puzzle boxes. Last night I rearranged the table I'm using as a workspace so that I'm no longer facing the wall. That should make it easier to shoot video, since I am now in the light instead of in shadow.
Vegetarian is fine, VEGAN is when it gets into dangerous territory. People don't understand that they still have a need for protein and other nutrients that they will HAVE to find another source for. Some do really well, others winding up looking just like you described.
Mike Kabala 2015-02-24T12:16:38-05:00
Hmm, the "Leave a comment" form isn't clearing the message out after I post it any more and I end up double-posting because of that.
I could never go Vegetarian, cow and pig just taste too amazing not to eat them. That being said, I do enjoy my veggies with every meal. Rarely do I have a vegetarian meal, something always seems to be lacking(usually it's someone else who made it, and salt is missing).
That's weird CB, you should completely refresh the window or completely restart the computer. Glad the puzzle box thing is coming along, they look really cool. Kind of sad I didn't see it to fund it when it was on here.
I still want to get a forum up on the website, but I haven't heard from either of my volunteers since the weekend. I think I'll have to just put a plain vanilla forum up and then customize it as we go along.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T12:20:29-05:00
I think paleo is the best way to go as far as diet
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2015-02-24T12:21:30-05:00
Vegan is ok. It's raw vegan that is really difficult to do. Especially in the winter when you want something warm and hearty to eat.
Mike Kabala 2015-02-24T12:22:11-05:00
@Potatten, the only disappointment I have regarding the puzzle boxes is that I'm still so busy on KickStarter rewards that I've been unable to start selling them to the general public. It's fun seeing them come together though.
A sensible diet is all that's important, no need for anything with a fancy name or to try and [eat like a cave man].
Mike Kabala 2015-02-24T12:24:43-05:00
@Speedy, no matter what software I use, it needs to be installed. I've been holding back waiting for replies to my emails. Whatever I install I hope to have someone else responsible for the day-to-day mainenance.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-24T12:30:19-05:00
so far so good. not much going on today. picking up my friend from work later and finally seeing her new apartment. answering a few emails. No baking, no labor.
@Idle, The only things so far requested with dual logos are a t-shirt and a coffee mug. I've been trying (unsuccessfully, apparently) to keep the number of available selections down to minimize confusion. I'm happy to add something that is specifically requested and available through Cafe Press.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-24T12:53:13-05:00
what's this pebble time nonsense?
Mike Kabala 2015-02-24T12:53:53-05:00
I heard a rumor they're finally coming out with a color version of the Pebble.
Avena 2015-02-24T12:53:56-05:00
It looks like Exploding Kittens won't keep its #3 spot for long...Pebble Time earned 4 million in 2 hours.
And about the tripe: I know that once they are done, masses of other ingredients mask the smell, but I would still know how they smelled about an hour ago....

Yes, I prefer Nigiri.... I thought you meant something else and I don't know why I was thinking sashimi.
Pubs? And now I want a beer
No good, @Tsveta. Childhood memories and such... the smell seems to be deeply ingrained into my memories.
Anyway, my floaty-facefooky-notification research has led me to another crash, and as I have no power or will to check where did I do wrong, I'm flying away.
Get off my tuna!
Bye Idle!
TTYL Tsveta! Tuna is really good, but I usually learn more toward salmon.
Not worse than fried spleens.
Bye Idle/Wild
Salmon. I know what I'm eating tonight.
I'm refined now, after all.
Salmon has a texture like a fish version of jerky. Eww
And I don't like liver anymore.
umm do you eat it dried?
@General Calc: Not ours. We have manual adjustments, and we use a system that was not built for payroll...though it has all the required payroll components(go figure, right?)

Tuna is like a pork chop.
Salmon - half an hour 150-180 degrees with cream and lemon sauce.
With fish how it's prepared is EVERYTHING.
I'm gone.
It must never be dry.
Pork chops are different. And tasty. Mmmmmm
@Potatten: This is true. It's too easy to dry out fish.
This project was a lot more fun when people talked about something other than food.

LOL Well CB sometimes you just need to interject a topic. How are you doing btw?
Looka that! Now you've got me talking about food.
... Go Cubbies!
@Cheetah: If it comes from McDonald's, it is poison. Every time I eat anything from there, I get sick. And only from there too. Doesn't matter where in the world it is, I always get sick eating at one.
BTW CB, Blondie said she was doing well and that she had a fully loaded weekend.
Oh, I'm doing OK, Potatten. I'm spending way too much on Cafe Press, and I haven't even gotten myself a t-shirt yet.
Yay for Blondie! Tell her we miss her.
lol you spend the time on there and haven't gotten yourself anything yet?!
@GM, more for me then! :-)
No, I ordered a coffee mug and an insulated tumbler, just no t-shirt ... although I've got my eye on a camo shirt.
I haven't ordered anything myself just yet. What all else have you been up to CB?
I'm waiting until AFTER I get back from Houston, and probably end of March before I can order anything from the Corp Store. Possibly even later than that.

Why not using CMS with a forum-plugin/-addon?
A sensible diet is all that's important, no need for anything with a fancy name or to try and [eat like a cave man].
@Speedy, no matter what software I use, it needs to be installed. I've been holding back waiting for replies to my emails. Whatever I install I hope to have someone else responsible for the day-to-day mainenance.
Given the number of backers that is quite an undertaking CB.
Wow CB. You went way over your goal. Now I'm defiantly going to buy your drinks at our official Kitten Con in Vegas.
Ok, Mike
Hello all you lovely people.
Hello Creeper! Having a lovely day?
Cupcake-Kitten is back ;)
so far so good. not much going on today. picking up my friend from work later and finally seeing her new apartment. answering a few emails. No baking, no labor.
Sounds like a nice relaxing day Creeper! Hope you enjoy it to the fullest.
@Geist, thank you.
beer and titties
We do go really quiet out of the blue some times.... must be the curse of the titties Guac has now brought down upon us.
Wasn't it Guac who suggested wearing stickers instead of a bra? Owch! That sounds painful, even without chest hair.
I'm pretty sure it was CB
Speaking of, do we have the coat of paws as a sticker?
We have four stickers with the COP on them.
Veggies FTW, but some meat at least every other day.
I want both logos on everything :)
Sorry- was distracted. Boooo veggies.
You're missing a lot.
@Idle, The only things so far requested with dual logos are a t-shirt and a coffee mug. I've been trying (unsuccessfully, apparently) to keep the number of available selections down to minimize confusion. I'm happy to add something that is specifically requested and available through Cafe Press.

I heard a rumor they're finally coming out with a color version of the Pebble.
It looks like Exploding Kittens won't keep its #3 spot for long...Pebble Time earned 4 million in 2 hours.
That does make sense CB. More people will generally want just the Oat logo, unless they were core members of KC.
I think the campaign just went live. It's all i see form kickstarter on twitter. 31 days to go.
@Idle, please email your requests to cheetahbutt@kittencorps.com and I'll add it to my to-do list. Thanks.
Pebble Time also isn't a game, so we care very little.
Indeed.
Also, we pulled ahead with backer level buy ins $35 and under. Unless they beat our backer numbers I will fail to be impressed.
I'll be broke in no time, so many things I want...
Fastest to $1 million is pretty impressive, though. :)
I agree- the amount EK raised with such a small price tier is so unbelievably amazing.
It's official: I'm going to see Slipknot in August
I'm not saying it's not, but the lowest backer tier is $160.00. They were going to get a boat load if their product was in demand.
Right, Evening all!
Hi Creeper, Geist, Potatten, Wild, CB, LZ, and othe Corps members!
Hey Chameleon! How are you?
Greetings EX!
@Potatten,
Yes, they definitely have an easier time of it with a higher price. :)
