Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:05:20-05:00
Well, i almost had the ones to Town Hall - but they were twice the amount i was expecting to pay, - and didn't know if friends wanted to pay that much. So i took pause, went back, and everything was gone. Damn. Nerdy piano bitches be fast.
They should, that's why I pointed to stubhub just in case.... don't know if they are reputable or not. Usually that kind of site pre-buys tickets and sells them for the venue.
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-02-25T10:08:41-05:00
But $38 to see Slipknot, Lamb of God, and Bullet for My Valentine? Yes, please!
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:09:38-05:00
I know.. that pisses me off. They were gone in one minute, then up on stub hub for a markup. So aggravating!
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-02-25T10:10:16-05:00
I went to the Alice Cooper and Mötley Crüe concert last year by myself. I still had a blast
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:10:20-05:00
I WANNA SEE MY NERDY PIANO PLAYING MUSIC THEORY LOVING ROCKSTAR
There was a chance to see Avenged Sevenfold late last year, but I haven't seen them at a venue where they weren't shit faced on stage yet so I decided not to chance it. I like them, but damn.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:27:54-05:00
YEAAAHHHHH!!! Some people must have dropped out. I got tickets.
@Potatten: The last concert I went to was actually a birthday present from a friend. We went to see Sonata Arctica.
@Creeper: I hate dealing with people too! They are typically so dense and annoying. Not to mention patience is a god damned super power these days.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:35:44-05:00
They just get so pushy and annoying. Regardless of who's playing. Some basic bitch spilling her beer or flipping her hair one too many times in my face....
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:36:51-05:00
Or, the chic who just has to be up front, and shoves her way through. This ain't the 80's.. they're not gonna pull you on stage and take you back to be some groupie. And then 10 minutes later, they have to shove back because they have to go to the bathroom. NO. YOU STAY. YOU CHOSE YOUR PLACE.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:37:30-05:00
sorry. i think someone needs coffee.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T10:44:54-05:00
Yeah... but I'm not really impressed. I'm also questioning their 'need' for KickStarter and the originality of the product given the market and their own history.....
@Tsveta: lol we still have the top game spot and top backer spot. It's also not much more than a rehash of their ALREADY successful KS campaign so it hardly counts.
They took themselves off the map, he just needs to figure out how to make them stick is all. It SHOULDN'T be difficult to find a fix. We're still gathering data so we can get it up ASAP.
I'm not the Kickstarter police. I don't really care who uses it or for what. If consumers find the offering valuable, they'll back it. If they don't, they won't.
@Catness: Not true actually. They didn't actually have any idea what kind of funding they would receive. The pebble on the other hand is already a valid product. It's a bit like Windows coming on and asking us to fund a new OS for them.
If it wasn't for KS, what would become of the game?
Something sold at the Oatmeal site, never to gain world popularity, and die. Fan-only. Because Oatmeal.
Now it's because everything.
Catness 2015-02-25T11:29:43-05:00
Tsveta, I'm not saying there's no value for Exploding Kittens to have done a Kickstarter. But I read an opinion piece that seems exactly aligned with your opinions, except that the author also thought this project was a great example of people getting funding when they don't need it.
Anja "Cha!" Allen 2015-02-25T11:30:01-05:00
@Dr. P...hmmmhmmm I think the moon may be a bit too close ;) and of course it's all @Prof F's fault...has he been around at all?
Well, I don't know what Elan's and Shane's salaries were :)
Catness 2015-02-25T11:32:34-05:00
For me, I don't care who runs a Kickstarter. It's not a zero-sum game, big names bring in new backers who then back less known projects. A friend of mine just finished a game and some of his backers came from Exploding Kittens.
Matthew from Bring Your Own Book said that they have some backers that had only ever backed Exploding Kittens before making it over to their game. And I'm going to guess that's going to happen with Pebble, too.
*shrug* So, do they "need" to do a Kickstarter? Probably not. Is there value to the company, the consumer, and other Kickstarter projects if they do? I think so.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T11:37:26-05:00
what i do find strange are some of the projects on here, when i was rejected for my proposal. like the potato salad, or other random things (just saw a new one that made no sense). I had multiple tier levels, rewards - all for raising money to help pay for legal fees, licensing fees, etc - for a Dessert truck/Booth space for markets in the city.
@Catness: The difference in opinion is a difference in understanding. None of the EK team had much going for them really in terms of creating a game. A fan base is not a guarantee of anything. They marketed it well, but that did not really mean anything for them in certainty. Pebble on the other hand is quite huge at this point.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T11:38:51-05:00
I view kickstarter as something to try a new endeavor - this card game was a new endeavor for them. I understand Pottatens view of it - this is their second product from an already successful kickstarter run. IT seems like somethign that would just be available on their own product page, now that they have a large customer base.
I just don't want KS used as a pre-order mobile. It shouldn't be used simply to reduce the risk a company takes, especially when the company can afford the risk.
Melissa "The Creeper" Nicole 2015-02-25T11:43:28-05:00
The market seems a bit flooded with so many funding sites, so I stepped back. My friends and family have already been so supportive the past few years, i dont' want to guilt them into spending more money. They all order from me as it is. It was a few years ago when I was just starting out. Now I've just been building my customer base bit by bit.
Dammit- Presale sold out in One minute - 3 different venues
Nice!
That sucks Creeper :(
Why do people feel the need to wear ugly-ass clothes while golfing?
Try stubhub? http://www.stubhub.com/ben-folds-tickets/…
Well, i almost had the ones to Town Hall - but they were twice the amount i was expecting to pay, - and didn't know if friends wanted to pay that much. So i took pause, went back, and everything was gone. Damn. Nerdy piano bitches be fast.
To blind the competition.
this was just pre-sale. So Friday AM they should have a lot more. . . i hope.
And yes, I said *a* Slipknot ticket. Mrs LZ doesn't care for them, and neither do most of my friends, so I get to go alone
I.R. gentlemans
LZ - Been to many a concert by my lonesome.
They should, that's why I pointed to stubhub just in case.... don't know if they are reputable or not. Usually that kind of site pre-buys tickets and sells them for the venue.

I haven't been to a concert in sometime.... since at least when Metallica came through around this way for Orion Music Fest.
That was like 2012...
Last one was Jean Michel Jarre I think... What a man. He's how old? You can never tell.
Juno Reactor before that. Sigh. I want them to come back.
The Cure
Ky next concert will probably be They Might Be Giants
@LZ: I like them. I have Particle Man on my iPod.
Juno is my one and only car music for six years now.
Waitaminute... am I mad?
There was a chance to see Avenged Sevenfold late last year, but I haven't seen them at a venue where they weren't shit faced on stage yet so I decided not to chance it. I like them, but damn.
YEAAAHHHHH!!! Some people must have dropped out. I got tickets.
@Potatten: I rarely go out to concerts. I enjoy them, I just rarely go.
Yay Creeper!
@GM: I'm the same way.
@Creeper: HUZZAH!
Thank god it's not general admission. i'm getting too old to be standing for four hours. dealing with people. bleh.
@Potatten: The last concert I went to was actually a birthday present from a friend. We went to see Sonata Arctica.
@Creeper: I hate dealing with people too! They are typically so dense and annoying. Not to mention patience is a god damned super power these days.

sorry. i think someone needs coffee.
my rage has frightened you.
Nay Creeper, just going back and forth.
Here's a pun to help lighten the mood: How can you tell Will Smith has been waling in the snow?
All the fresh prints!
Oh no, I broke the comments with my terrible pun T.T!
nice
was making breakfast. and by breakfast - a whole wheat tortilla and almond butter. super exciting.
Sounds at least good for you, at least more so that a cupcake.

*falls out of the ocean* help that wave blew me out of the ocean

Good morning, everyone!
Morning Catness!
Pebble is just raking in the dollars.
The many millions of dollars.
They don't need.
Yeah... but I'm not really impressed. I'm also questioning their 'need' for KickStarter and the originality of the product given the market and their own history.....
Bye third place. Nice knowing you.
Good Morning/day/night everyone :)
Did the Map link make it onto the KittenCorps website yet?
A cheater took you.
It's still in Beta Cha!... meaning the dots aren't liking EX and we're working out the kinks.

Only one question left.
@Tsveta: lol we still have the top game spot and top backer spot. It's also not much more than a rehash of their ALREADY successful KS campaign so it hardly counts.
@Dr. P...what are the dots doing to @Ex-P?
The red pill or the black pill?
I was busy setting up new phone last night...tooooo maaaany email accounts and passwords!
Potatten and Tsveta, Exploding Kittens didn't "need" Kickstarter either.
They took themselves off the map, he just needs to figure out how to make them stick is all. It SHOULDN'T be difficult to find a fix. We're still gathering data so we can get it up ASAP.
Actually, it did.
@Dr. P...flying off the map dots ;)

*shrug* It's not worth the disagreement to me. I think it's fine, but I'm not invested in you thinking the same thing.

You're certainly not alone in feeling this way. It just doesn't bother me.
You don't have to be not bothered by things that don't bother me. You're welcome to choose your own botherings! :-)
@Creeper...that sounds like an awesome idea!
Have you looked into other crowdfunding platforms?
Going home. L8r :)
