I don't know if he's planning on making money with those tiers (well, probably not since there's no way he's profitable on any of this unless he's printing on copy paper and cutting these by hand). He could just be using those tiers to take 10 vacations on other people's money. So some place like Hawaii would be a lose of revenue. But some place like Nebrahoma would be a waste of time. Hopefully someone from the Alaskan outback 500 miles from any airport takes him up on it, so it's both.

I would be very surprised if more than one team from any given city were to win the test decks, I don't think it likely on any level (though I could be wrong). My best guess is that Elan and company will want to spread it around to different parts of the country/world to get the most/best possible feedback before going to press with the full production run.
Well Canada IS a big place, which is what I was referring to. I don't imagine Vancouver is much bigger than a normal city though. Of course everyone also wants to compete for the prize of (test decks) and whatever else they may receive by doing the surveys.
If anyone can help me out in my quest to get Forge Solid to offer a 100g Tungsten cube, I'd appreciate it. They seem to favor the sizes with more digits after the dollar sign. Thanks.
agreed completely - spread teh love around, part of why i didn't want to compete with another new york entry. - but if not stipulated in the rules, you could have some people that are upset that they were number 4 or 5 but skipped over because of the same city.

I'm sure that people would be miffed about losing even though they had a high like score, but I think two things mitigate against the Creative team caving on this.
1. It's a Beta test, they need info, and I think they have made it clear they want info from a LOT of different places.
2. I KNOW Matt has a lot of experience dealing with unhappy fans (see his last drawing in the "Doodles" on KittenCorps.com). My guess is Shane and Elan are getting used to it as well.
I meant that to say want CB, and I was asking because I didn't know it you actually had a purpose for it or if you just thought it was cool (clearly the latter now obviously....) Wasn't trying to be smarmy or anything. That certainly is pricey though....

@DrP, thanks, but I really DO want a copy of his card game. If you'll notice, all of my comments have been designed to get the creator to reveal more abou the expected quality of the finished game. He says he's hired an artist, so that's encouraging. At $15/deck this isn't a money grab, but I think the creator is in for a rude awakening due to his lack of experience.

Landmass wise, Canada is bigger than the US(we have TONS of little islands to the North), population wise, California is slightly bigger than Canada.

@DrP, why do you NEED an Exploding Kittens game? I just think a solid tungsten cube is cool because tungsten is denser than uranium. I can't afford $200 for a 1kg cube though.
I'm sure that people would be miffed about losing even though they had a high like score, but I think two things mitigate against the Creative team caving on this.
1. It's a Beta test, they need info, and I think they have made it clear they want info from a LOT of different places.
2. I KNOW Matt has a lot of experience dealing with unhappy fans (see his last drawing in the "Doodles" on KittenCorps.com). My guess is Shane and Elan are getting used to it as well.
I meant that to say want CB, and I was asking because I didn't know it you actually had a purpose for it or if you just thought it was cool (clearly the latter now obviously....) Wasn't trying to be smarmy or anything. That certainly is pricey though....

@DrP, thanks, but I really DO want a copy of his card game. If you'll notice, all of my comments have been designed to get the creator to reveal more abou the expected quality of the finished game. He says he's hired an artist, so that's encouraging. At $15/deck this isn't a money grab, but I think the creator is in for a rude awakening due to his lack of experience.

Since he's revealed the entire deck composition except for 16 of the cards, I could make a reasonable facsimile for playtesting, even if the campaign does fail.

I'm still going to back out in the last few days. Even if it does get the funds. He says he can get the cards, anywhere in the world, within 3 days. Customs, shipping, postal services....those will all add 2-3weeks.
