Holy sweet crap that is INSANE how much money people paid for it!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure my friends just sold it at a garage sale 15 years ago.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:34:12-04:00
see ya, juha.
Haha, I know. I had a couple toys that are worth thousands too. Actually, I may have one, but I still have trouble believing it's worth so much. Let me check it.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:35:22-04:00
Aah, I can't remember the name of the company. I'll have to go look at them.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:39:46-04:00
Holy crap. Just searched rare fischer price toys and so many of my mom's she let us play with and gave away to a thrift store years ago came up. Why?!?! Let's see if I can find the one. Part of a set and I can't remember which it was.
My mom was actually really awesome at saving things that we thought would be worth a lot of money. We still have a TON of stuff saved in big plastic crates. Unfortunately, we were wrong about some things. There's a board game -Fireball Island. There's a fantastic blog about how to actually play it. The instructions were a book.. not just the back of the box. I remember we all made up our own rules. Sold it for $2 at a garage sale about 15-20 years ago. People are paying $300 for it now. I know it's not thousands, but still...dammit! I wanna play again!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:43:24-04:00
Dang. Part of the Fisher Price Great Adventures series but I can't remember which one. I saw somewhere it was worth either several hundred or thousand dollars. But we have everything in them but that invisible knight I just found. I played with those until I was like 16. Actually, still would if I had the time for how I set it up. So much fun.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:44:40-04:00
I couldn't give it up because of memories and how fun it still is. That was possibly my favorite [non video] thing growing up.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:49:10-04:00
Wait, red and blue knights? We only had black and gold. cool.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:56:03-04:00
am now chatting with my sister about a vague memory of a game we used to play on Sega...this is going to drive me crazy.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T01:59:11-04:00
Mario cart 64 is NOT worth $900! Whoever tricked that guy was a genius. And whoever had that surge must be sorry they started making it again sold online! And beanie babies may be worthless, but with how many I had, I could make tens of dollars! I'm ritch!
C.F. "The Ex-President" Heyns 2015-03-23T02:03:10-04:00
Morning all. Anything important in the past few days that I missed? Any new members?
Heya Tep! Umm, there may have been new members... but not sure If i was around for it. Edwin has become official! we're just talking toy/game nostalgia.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:08:56-04:00
Haha, I forgot I was too young to know people were that crazy about them then! And they'll never be worth anything, but I loved mine so much I'll have them until I get rid of them someday.
(beanie babies, if you forgot my topic and jumped to a conclusion)
C.F. "The Ex-President" Heyns 2015-03-23T02:11:58-04:00
I like to dabble in nostalgia now and then. Golden Axe and Streets of Rage were awesome!
We didn't get into them too much ... not sure why. Either my mom was just not in the mood to try or what. I had a few. I had more troll dolls than beanie babies. Trolls had a resurgence in the late 80's early 90's... i had a pretty decent collection. And we were big on McDonald's happy meal toys. The barbie ones- always drove around and got hte full set. We have crates full of those... maybe worth nothing, but you never know...10-30 years down the line.
Tep- YESSS! I'm glad you liked those games!! I have sooo many memories of my sister and I playing Golden Axe!!! It was one of those games that, even though it was 2-player and you were working together, you could still hurt each other. She and I would always yell at each other for throwing the axe or having our fire-breathing dragon hurt each other. Oh man....
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:19:34-04:00
As a nintendo person, that sounds funny. Though Mario Party is the most brutal game ever made. It's not a party, it's a free-for-all where you nearly literally tear eachother apart physically as well as verbally. I still get super competitive playing it because my damn brothers always teamed up on me. The western stage was good, though.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:20:55-04:00
I really should go, shouldn't I? It's 1:20 and I'm waking up at something like 7:00 or 7:30. But comics and talking!!! And spring break!
But coffee and Mr. Camina and El Clasico!
I haven't played Mario Party yet! I have a wii... but when I got the wii, I'm an adult and have bills to pay... so $40 video games were out for me.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:24:22-04:00
I love A-Ha moments like that. I had one earlier today and ironically can't remember what it was about.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:27:05-04:00
Well Mario Party 2 is the one I played and I loved it. I think we have 8 for the wii, but none compare to #2. Or Paper Mario the original. Nothing comes close to that. Or the time it took me and my little brother on our joint save file 1 and 1/2 years to find a freaking door in the ice wall! At least I know I'll never forget how to go through that damn thing! One of my older brothers loved playing with us and even told us the truth a couple times and we could never find it!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:28:30-04:00
Maybe I should bring that to EK con. Mario party, because it's multiplayer, and paper mario because it's BA. And tony hawk pro skater 1. That was the bomb.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:30:24-04:00
Not to mention I lost my retainer coming back from skiing and it's not in any of the only 3 places it could physically possibly be and I can literally feel my teeth shifting back into place and it sucks so much I mention it on here out of context. My teeth literally curve in to the center of my mouth in the middle of the sides. Like a bent omega symbol overall.
1 - Those a-ha moments are worth living. We found it at the same time and sent the message "FORGOTTEN WORLDS!!" at the same time. THen we got all nostalgic again. I really really hate being a grown-up.
2-lost retainer - i know that feeling. I was far far from home and orthodontist and never got a new one. They shifted back a bit. :( but not drastic. Still... I hate that feeling.
and yeah... with figuring things out on video games!! before the days of youtube... we had to actually work at it and spend months and years! oh man... and playing games before there was a "save" function.. I remember just ahving it set on pause, and threatening my family if they touched the genesis... they were dead.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:43:48-04:00
I did similar stuff sometimes. But the 64 overheated sometimes which sucked. And my little brother erased the save file on paper mario in which we spent the year trying to figure out the hole in the wall and ended up leveling up everything so freaking much and getting every achievement possible. Then we beat the game, he deleted it, and i felt like beating him for months if not years. (It didn't just take me that long to get over the loss of it all, I felt like beating him for a year straight.)
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:45:04-04:00
But the worst loss of a save was when I accidentally erased my harvest moon ds file I spent years building up. I'd almost done everything you could apart from mythic tools and just one day accidentally erased it all. I just put the game away for good after that.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T02:47:49-04:00
Well my mom just woke up for no reason and came downstairs and reinstated a midnight at the latest bedtime for me. Yay spring break! I would've though spring break is exactly the time to stay up 45 minutes after you normally would've anyways. Oh well, guess I'm going now. Good night.
I didn't play harvest moon - but it was one I was also tempted to buy. I knew i'd be addicted to it! ... and i feel you on the deleting a file like that. ugh... It has to be depressing. i don't blame you for just putting it away.
Ok. i am now in bed, and going to sit up and play Castle of Illusion for a bit. sister is tending to her children now. :) She's waiting for nap time (she lives in Italy, they just woke up). we want to find an online 2-play verison of Forgotten Worlds... they have single player but we need to connect!
and fear not about missing an email for backer surveys! You can always check your profile when you login! I just received a survey from another project, and there was a yellow notification bar the second I was logged in to Kickstarter.
Morning GCoD! it's a tough call!
@GM - This was just discovered last night while my sister and I were reminiscing! I now realize why these games took so long- you had to start over so fast. No millions of continues, saves, etc... I am having a tough time!
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-23T10:47:09-04:00
@Creeper, at the height of the Beanie Baby Craze, my old bosses wife was buying them while on the road going to cat shows, and then selling them on eBay ... she was making $25K a year just doing that. Now they'd be worthless, but at the time, she was making a killing.
Wow... that's insane! and 25K a year at that time? I just remember hearing about people on the news going bananas over rare or new releases.
And in regards to Aza- i will say one thing- he does have very nice hands for 76...I think someone else brought it up. Unless it's someone else modeling them. I'd love to know what moisturizer he uses!
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-23T10:53:09-04:00
I doubt KS will suspend the Aza Dice one, but at the same time, I think we have poisoned the well enough to make a difference if he is really the infamous Szklorz.
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-23T10:56:54-04:00
She'd buy the Beanies in truck stops and small towns, since everyone was ordering them for stock ... then offer them on eBay so folks all over could find the HTF ones easier ... of course, she was supposedly our "secretary" during the week, and would instead be doing eBay, so I doubt the net income was as much since she wasn't doing her paid job -- but being the owner's wife, what could you say?
Also Creeper for the games you could use an emulator and rom. Here's a video and most of the stuff you'd need. You'll need to look up the rom separately.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T11:43:17-04:00
Ah, the in-famous Dr. Potatten! I'm still only to #416 and just after they got the earth orb and before starting the next plotline. What have you done?!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T11:44:51-04:00
Wow, I stopped last night with exactly as many comments as PoT! Well, #12 commenter. Historian, you're next! Only 47 comments left, so watch your back! And front. And port-bow. You never know from whence the next Mattress Attack shall come!!!
Today is a very sad day for me. We had to put our dog to sleep. Every breath was a struggle. No matter how well you prepare for this day, you're never prepared.
Dammit. Every time I get a couple of likes the stinking blue hotdog video gets a couple more as well. I'm chasing a blue freakin' hotdog here. If you haven't voted yet please, do so NOW.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2015-03-23T12:10:55-04:00
PoT that would make 3 pets gone in several weeks. I hope I don't have to join soon, but I have an outside cat we've had since I was probably 2. Now she's almost 90 in human years comparatively and lives outside. She's had a rough life, but long and successful and is now the undisputed ruler of our property. I think I'll be ok with her gone because she's lived so long and prosperously, but I will be really sad. Then again she's hung around 3 years longer than I thought.
Mike Kabala 2015-03-23T12:11:22-04:00
Yes it was. He kept looking up at us as if to ask us to make it better. I hope he's runnng around in heaven right now, but we already miss him desparately. It'll take us a long time to heal.
Sorry for your loss CB. It's never easy losing the furry members of a family. We had to put one of our cats down last year...and it was hard on everyone. She could barely breath, and the vet did an x-ray which showed a big lump in her stomach, along with "spider web" lines through her lungs. =/

Hello Dr Potatten, I'm sorry, getting nervous as we are close to end and feeling hopeless on my chances
Bateer late than never, Good evening Peter B
Good morning all
And wow after 36 minutes no one says anything. Not even zem said anything
After another 49 minutes since my first comment still no one is here.
Hi, any date about when the final survey will be available? Thx
They will most likely release it a couple weeks from the shipping date. I would say in like a month or a month and a half.
@Robecop: No known date has been set yet, they will be sent out closer to the shipping date.
Hi @evan
Oof! 11 comments since I went to bed! ...i was also up pretty late. Good morning everyone!
and fear not about missing an email for backer surveys! You can always check your profile when you login! I just received a survey from another project, and there was a yellow notification bar the second I was logged in to Kickstarter.
Hello Creeper and Derp!
Morning, my darling Potatten. How are you this Monday?
Morning everyone. How goes the day?
Hi GM! It goes pretty quiet!
Mine is kind of quiet...for now. Once the payroll information starts pouring in, I will be busy for most of the next 10-ish hours.
I'm going to be so distracted today. play all these old Sega games!
Wait, what?! And you aren't inviting your favorite mountain? I am very disappointed.
And hurt...can't forget hurt.
Good morning All. I am still irritated that the Aza Dice fellow has not risen to the bait. I wonder if he really is legit?
Morning GCoD! it's a tough call!

I'm doing well. Old Sega games?
Good Mornin'. How are we all today?
Also Creeper for the games you could use an emulator and rom. Here's a video and most of the stuff you'd need. You'll need to look up the rom separately.
Tired...confused...and annoyed. How are you PoT?
https://www.youtube.com/watch… (VIDEOH!)
Potatten- thanks! Though I think just playing online will satisfy my craving. :)
i see words like emulator and rom and I shut down. But i'll have a look. I also read that as Vide--OHHH!!!)
Everyone gearing up to the end of the #kittenconsul?
It's coming, it will happen tomorrow! 11:59pm their time. So it will be 2:59 am here. I won't be able to do a manual capture of the top twenty. http://www.kittencorps.com/cgi-bin/leaderboard.php
Sup, peeps? Que hora es? https://www.youtube.com/watch…
You're a hora!
Ah, the in-famous Dr. Potatten! I'm still only to #416 and just after they got the earth orb and before starting the next plotline. What have you done?!
Que honda wey??
Wow, I stopped last night with exactly as many comments as PoT! Well, #12 commenter. Historian, you're next! Only 47 comments left, so watch your back! And front. And port-bow. You never know from whence the next Mattress Attack shall come!!!
Wait... March 24th, 11:59 EST... that's midnight for us, Potatten.
You just passed my favorite part! The whole earth orb bit! (steaks yeah, brilliant!) and "the mightiest stake in all the land!"
tomorrow. Crap. I thought it ended today! head. bad. BLurrrgh...I could have made the video after all.
Oh, yeah. Duh..... I don't know why I was thinking PST.
I think they originally had it ending at PST, but changed it once they posted official rules.
The dream interpretation episode was pretty good. I liked that whole arc. It does keep building up and getting better though.
OH okay, that makes sense then.
I love the title for that one. 400 pounds of flavor!
When LZ gets on here, I need him to delete my tweet about the contest ending today. *sigh* what a wreck.
So tomorrow at 11 pm here. I'll almost definitely be on, so that's good. Can't wait to see who l̶o̶s̶e̶rs̶ wins!
Gosh the internet is so much slower at home. I can't even watch youtube at 1080p, only 720.
Sorry if I take a while to respond. I'm popping back and forth between here, FB and YouTube trying to boost my numbers for #KittenConsul.
Anyone else living in a F#@Kin' winter wonderland this morning?
No! thankfully! but it's chilly.
Today is a very sad day for me. We had to put our dog to sleep. Every breath was a struggle. No matter how well you prepare for this day, you're never prepared.
Oh, CB.... I am so so sorry to hear that.
Dammit. Every time I get a couple of likes the stinking blue hotdog video gets a couple more as well. I'm chasing a blue freakin' hotdog here. If you haven't voted yet please, do so NOW.

So sorry CB. I know the pain. Actually trying to prepare myself for the same soon.
Same.

That's so heartbreaking CB. I know you adored that little guy -and it seemed like everyone else who met him!
