Yeah, I'm just worried about space, and keeping the location staff happy! It's the waitress in me.

Hi LZ
Juha-Pekka Ahonen 2015-03-30T00:43:11-04:00
For those of you that keep your playtest party in a bar, before happening gather some people you trust and give them so decks so you can have several gaming tables and let lot of people try the game and think how do you rotate the people who wish to keep playing throught the night. Just in gameshop it's easy to keep a eye on group that loaned a deck of cards but in a bar full of drunken people looking for a seat, it might get harder
Juha-Pekka Ahonen 2015-03-30T00:48:29-04:00
I think as game is intented 5 people per table is optimal but i wouldnt mix mlre than 2 decks (think about 20 people in a big table trying to reach the middle and putting randomly targeting bad stuff only on you (as they feel closer to you than people they dont know).
Juha-Pekka Ahonen 2015-03-30T00:49:23-04:00
Oh yeah and good morning, had these thoghts as I readed creeper has many rsvp's and that we gonna get 4 decks (which is more than enought for me too)
Yeah, Juha- have already been working on some plans for this many people. I will at least have two large tables reserved - i think these tables seat 10-12 people each. two games per table. I'll have a running list of who's next to play. Not so much that someone has to get up after one game, but when people are done, the next people can be dealt in.
I am worried about people not paying a bar tab, so i have to keep a good eye on that - and will talk to the waitstaff ahead of time. And I just don't want to annoy the people that work there- with a bunch of people crowding around the tables, etc. I may be over-analyzing and fretting too much, but I like to be prepared, and i want to keep everyone happy.
I just did not expect so many people to come! it's going to be hard to wrangle this sort of crowd. I know not everyone will show up at once, and some people won't come at all... but still... I'm a bit flabbergasted!
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:04:11-04:00
Now it's seeming like 50 pens won't be enough, eh?
Yeah, i already emailed Cane. hahaha... My friends are helping me calm down. They keep telling me to stop viewing it as a waitress, and view it as a fun time. There's only so much I can do to accommodate people. They can hang at the bar, etc.
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:14:03-04:00
Oh, I understand. I'm not freaking out, but that's only because I've organized events before
That is a large group to keep a handle on @creeper. With your waitressing skills at least you have an idea of things to keep an eye out for. Good luck.
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:15:34-04:00
I'm sure the bar will be okay with a little bit of a ruckus around your tables, since the people who aren't actively playing will probably be actively drinking
It's more so that I want to keep the bar/restaurant happy. I've waited on parties of 100 plus people, and i'm good with people and managing a bunch of things at once. I just don't want people disappearing on tabs. I hope they all remember that I'm a broke waitress myself.
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:16:55-04:00
And why the BALLS is that 'Be respectful and considerate' link so clise to the 'Post comment' button?!
yeah, you're right. That's what my coworkers/friends are saying. I tend to prepare for EVERYTHING and get all freaked out... and it all ends up being fine.
hahahahaha... it wants you to think twice before you post that comment!!
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:18:13-04:00
I'm sure they'll have people of their own making sure people don't bail out on their tabs
Juha-Pekka Ahonen 2015-03-30T01:18:49-04:00
Creeper, talk with the people of your location and tell them about the situation as much in advance as possible, so they can think and help you out, if you are thinkg of sales you should put in both tables that everyone should order something so lot of people won't just show up, play and go.
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:19:22-04:00
Yeah, but I keep tapping it by mistake. It's very annoying
Kevin "Lord Zombitten" Buckner 2015-03-30T01:21:37-04:00
Any who, I should probably go to sleep now. Night all!
Juha- Yeah, i'm going to post in the invite page to come hungry and thirsty- that Bierhaus is being awesome by letting us play, so we should return the love. I think most people will do that, regardless. As well as hang out at the bar and drink as well. it IS a big place, and there will be plenty of room. I'm thankful i moved it to Wednesday - the manager said it's much less busy.
@Creeper: How many people do you have signed up for it? You might also want to consider a cap on the number of people able to attend(talk to the manager of the place it's being held at) to see what they say would be a reasonable amount...and possibility of doing more than one night of it.
At the moment- over 50. I can't afford more than one night. But if there's a ton, will offer the other nyc team- if they wanted to host a second night at uncommons on the same night as mine. Yeah- an discussing all with manager.
Powers of Tesla 2015-03-30T10:58:08-04:00
I'm holding two parties now myself. The one in Schaumburg that I set up and now one in Chicago at the game store that entered last minute and didn't stand a chance, Maximum Distractions. I wanted to help 'em out. And check out the map I made.
@PoT, did you get my reply to your email? The map link is on the website now on the KittenConsul page. If anyone wants to rewrite the copy on that page and still include the two links, I'd surely appreciate it.
I also know how a lot of new Yorkers are. We say we're gonna come and end up not showing. Haha... I think it has to do with "ugh... I do NOT want to go back out, take the subway/bus whatever..."
Mike Kabala 2015-03-30T11:11:03-04:00
There are also a couple in Virginia that may be less than a day's drive away. I still can't believe that neither of the Carolinas got one.
Mike Kabala 2015-03-30T11:12:05-04:00
I thought that Dalton, Georgia was an Atlanta suburb, but now that I see it's not, it looks less desirable as a destination to me.
@Creeper: The way New Yorkers are, is kind of how I am. Once I'm home, I REALLY don't want to go back out until I have to. Which is why I tell people to meet me somewhere if we have plans. I will spend an extra 2-3hours away from home because once I'm home, the pants come off(most literally, though I do put on my "at home" pants, which are an old pair of jeans).
@gm- close. Licked my finger. I'm taking baby steps.
Jeff "Great Cane of Doom"™ Saxton 2015-03-30T11:44:18-04:00
For the pen folks, I won't know prices until I get stuff in hand, but not to worry, things will be cheapish ... I'm not making money, and part of the shipping will be a gimme to the Kitten Consuls within the KC group
O.o I will not panic about the number of people coming to my party. I will not panic about the number of people coming to my party....
Creeper what's the number so far?
Snugs Creeper. You'll be fine
@PoT the NJ party
Hi @Dave
Heya creeper! How are you?
Up to 46
At work, can't talk much. But just checked the invite. Egads!
Damn that's some good turn out .... You will be great don't worry about it
Derek, awesome! There may be a third day, as well!
Yeah, I'm just worried about space, and keeping the location staff happy! It's the waitress in me.

@Cheetah Butt. Did you get my email from 1:00 this morning?
Good morning Kitten Corp.
@PoT, I get all of the emails you send me.
Looks like the closest playtest party is in Dalton, GA, about 4 hours away. :-(
@ CB. Cool. I look forward to seeing pics of your dice.
Where are you CB?
And again, I seem to be alone....
Morning!
Morning, Bierlady.
Ah! Life! Howdy.
Heya
Getting excited for your party Creeper?
I'm getting nervous! Was not expecting this many people!
@Creeper: How many people do you have signed up for it? You might also want to consider a cap on the number of people able to attend(talk to the manager of the place it's being held at) to see what they say would be a reasonable amount...and possibility of doing more than one night of it.

Thanks for making the map! That's awesome!

Thank you for making the map PoT!
Hmm... @PoT and I seem to be just missing each other today.
Let me know if you need to pull any information from the Manual Sheet for the list, though I know EK did release their own list on the update.
@Potatten, do you see the new Kitten Consul page on the website? Any ideas?
Btw, has anyone else noticed that Kitten Consul starts with "Kitten Con?"
It needs to stop being cold dammit >.<
I see several people here, yet nobody is responding to any of my posts. Did I do something bad?
Got your email CB, just responded.
OK thanks @PoT.
Good morning All ....
I did CB, I certainly did....
It looks good so far CB.
I'm just going back and forth with various tasks CB.
Cb- hmmmm... KittenCon.... We SHALL have one, dammit!
You do nice work CB. Thank you.
@Creeper: The way New Yorkers are, is kind of how I am. Once I'm home, I REALLY don't want to go back out until I have to. Which is why I tell people to meet me somewhere if we have plans. scrunchie just ate from my hand! :) kittykitty looked at him like "ZOMG that's a human! What are you doing?!?!"
@Cheetah: Well, it sort of is a bunch of mini pre-cons. But we still need a big Kitten Con where everyone comes dressed as their Kitten Corp persona.
@gm- word. WORD.
@Creeper: Did Scrunchie let you touch him? If not, then shame on him.
@potatten- agreed about the cold! I look at my coat with anger these days
Howdy GCoD! Don't forget to send an email with what I owe you.
@gm- close. Licked my finger. I'm taking baby steps.
For the pen folks, I won't know prices until I get stuff in hand, but not to worry, things will be cheapish ... I'm not making money, and part of the shipping will be a gimme to the Kitten Consuls within the KC group
Thanks GCoD. I forgot you didn't have 'em yet.
Good morning corps!
Morning BaKhan. How do you fare this fine morning?
Morning BaKhan!
Potatten- I meant to ask - did you ever see the video on my Instagram? Me rolling down the sidewalk in a shopping cart?
There was a video? BRB.
lol that's hilarious Creeper.
Home, sweet home! I'm coming!
I expect a link to the cart video too :P
Ok Kittens. I'm off to PT (what fun).
Play nice til I get back in a couple of hours.
Powers of Tesla? Pebble Time? Parent Torture?
Whatever it is, have fun ;)
