@Geist, lol, I don't know if I can imagine you as being shy! ;) Of course I remember that one, I think NyQuil is basically the new version of that tbh. ;)
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-15T16:07:00-05:00
@BaKhan: Trust me. Due to my crappy childhood, I was a very shy person. Wasted a good chunk of my 20's simply going to work and home.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-15T16:20:07-05:00
@Geist, oh I get that... Its just the vivacious, outgoing and extremely personable person that you are now, makes that version of you hard to envision. Thats all. ;) So glad (and lucky!) that you've been strong enough to move past those times!
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-15T16:22:56-05:00
People also get cough syrup to get high on dextromethorphan.
I finally feel like a living person again! For a solid two weeks, there, I was battling a nasty cold that sapped away all my energy. When I get things like that, I'm always afraid of it turning into a sinus infection, so I take all the medicine and irrigate the sinuses.
I'm backwards, though. Nyquil doesn't make me drowsy, but the phenilefrin in Dayquil makes me feel funny to the point that I want to go to sleep. So I take Nyquil by day and Dayquil by night.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-15T16:23:52-05:00
Geist, I run the KC FB page, and Creeper handles the Twitter
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-15T17:15:21-05:00
I'm the only one in my family who couldn't legally drink at least one time before they were 21; all 3 of my brothers could in Canada or one or two other places.
`
LZ, that could be the name of your autobiography!
"Nyquil by day and Dayquil by night"
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-15T17:40:52-05:00
So, the lead singer of the Cranberries died today...
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-15T17:47:26-05:00
@LZ: I saw that. Damn. I really liked her singing. Another part of my young years gone.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-15T17:48:44-05:00
Ah, I didn't even know Kitten Corps had a Twitter account. I knew of the FB page, just took so long for me to join it.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-16T02:55:43-05:00
LZ, oh dammit, please don't be serious. Man, they've been one of my favorite bands for a long time, my dad's too.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-16T03:50:39-05:00
Morning kittens. Today is my first bit of training in what I'm hoping will be a new part time gig. It's way out in the middle of no where Virginia and will take me a while to travel there and back home. Not sure now long the breaks are or i they have any. So there will be radio silence from me most of today. I'll check in once the class is over and I'm back home.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-16T06:43:18-05:00
Sounds tough, but great, Geist! Best of luck that this really works out well for you!
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-16T09:06:22-05:00
Morning kittens.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-16T09:08:09-05:00
@Geist, best of luck! I hope this is what you've been looking for!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-16T18:47:42-05:00
Morning? Wait, was it morning there really? Wow, this time difference can be so confusing. I usually think around after my lunchtime, it should be very early morning at home. It makes family skype calls hell, I know that; my brother lives in Switzerland, and we can only call him sunday at like 3pm our/10pm his time. Guess I'll be on that same schedule now!
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-17T08:22:02-05:00
Morning kittens.
Yesterday was a long day. Up at 2:30 in the morning, back home around 8 pm. Nearly 10 hours of instruction with breaks in-between and a generous 1 1/2 lunch break. A ton of paperwork that needed to be filled out and I have to study for a test that, if I don't pass, I won't get the job. And I STILL have to go for a drug test, will out another background form and if I pass all of that, take the paperwork to some government office in D.C. to get my certification approved. You'd think I was going to get paid $50 per hour with the hoops I've had to jump through. I'm not even sure if there is a position waiting for me after all of this is done.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-17T09:08:56-05:00
Did you guys know that our postal service is selling Disney Villain stamps? I just ordered a sheet.
@BaKhan: I can order a sheet for you and Misty and bring it with me when I come visit next. If you're interested, I mean.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-17T09:17:36-05:00
@Geist, you have to trust your gut instincts on this one. If you thought it was worth it, then it is, so stick with it! It sounds like if you are able to get a job from it, that it will help you tremendously, so just try to keep that in mind! Upwards and onward! Those Villain stamps sound awesome, but with all the Disney stuff that we have already, I don't think we need those too. I know, I know shocker right? But I'm just looking at all the chaos that has built up in our home over the last couple of months (depression doesn't equate a clean house) and can't imagine adding anything to it, not to meantion, I don't know how we would keep track of those stamps either. Thank you very much for thinking of us though!
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-17T09:20:56-05:00
@Zem, Germany is 6 hours ahead of the east coast so I hope that helps... ;) I also hope that you're enjoying your true German immersion! ;)
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-17T09:34:03-05:00
depression doesn't equate a clean house
Tell me about it. That is part of the reason my apartment gets so junky. Even when I do get the time, I stay in bed all day instead of cleaning.
Does this mean I have to take back the gifts I've already purchased for you and the wife? I only got two presents and you can use them as displays for the trick or treaters at Halloween.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-17T09:57:55-05:00
@Geist, Oh I wouldn't say that! ;) We both loved the treats that you got for us last year! I can't wait to use those cookie molds! I just was thinking that the stamps might be too hard to keep track of/store properly, and would probably not be enjoyed as much as they should. We've got Disney stuff that we barely look at as it is. Please don't ever think that we don't value you or the things that you bring us! ;)
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-17T10:23:10-05:00
@BaKhan: Awww. Thanks but I give you guys presents to show how much I appreciate you having me over. I know that you are very busy getting ready for the party so picking me up at the airport plus tour guide afterwards is rather taxing for you.
Aside from still being sick, pretty crappy. Come in and tons of backed up items due to nobody being able to properly cover for me. Definitely going to enjoy taking time off next month for the trip.
Mike Kabala 2018-01-17T11:37:49-05:00
Morning kittens. Snow day here in Charlotte.
Mike Kabala 2018-01-17T11:54:42-05:00
Wait ... there's a KC Facebook page?
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-17T11:55:52-05:00
Morning, all!
Geist, it sounds like your new job is starting out a little rough, but it sounds like it will be worth it in the long run. Hang in there. You got this!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T11:57:04-05:00
Howdy, CB. Snowy here as well, funny enough. Doesn't snow too much, and today, it all just melted on the ground, but still.
`
I'm actually annoyed at that; this is the first time in literally half a dozen years that Nebraska has gotten any actual, good snowfall and winter weather... and I go to a place with the exact weather we've had for the last 3 years straight, that kind of annoying snow-drizzle that never accumulates and only makes things wet and icy!
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-17T11:57:13-05:00
@CB, indeed there is! It was established back in the glory days of the Kitten Corps. I started it up while you were building the website. Creeper handles the Kitten Corps Twitter account.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-17T11:59:09-05:00
We've had T-shirt weather here for the past couple of weeks. I don't like it. We need a ton more snow to keep us supplied with water through the year.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T12:00:27-05:00

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the puzzle.
Come to think of it, I should have remembered that there was a FB page, but at the time it was started I was spending all of my time updating the KC webpage. I suppose I should add some info about the puzzle and calendar over there.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T12:16:51-05:00
Yeah, literally for the next week, there's not a single hour with a 0% chance of snow or rain, but it won't even get below 0°C until this weekend, and even then only overnight. So yup. tons of sleet and ice and wetness all week!
Woo.
Mike Kabala 2018-01-17T12:29:01-05:00
@Zem, it's supposed to get back into the 60's by Sunday, so as usual the snow in Charlotte will only last a couple of days at best. It's the wet kind that comes down in large, pretty flakes and turns into slush on the roads. I wouldn't ewant to be out on the roads after dark when it finally freerzes hard.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-17T12:31:46-05:00
Zem, I remember those days (I was one country to the west). Good times! There wad one memorable storm wherein the sleet was large enough to see that the individual pieces looked like the capsule the lunar astronauts came back to Earth in. That storm hurt...
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-17T13:30:55-05:00
@LZ: Thanks! I'm determined to study and pass this test with 100% correct score. Even if they don't have anything for me right now, I can take my certification to another company and see if they will hire me.
Just so that we are clear, I haven't left my full time job. I just need a part time job to help pay my bills so that I'm completely debt free in 2019.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-17T13:32:23-05:00
Howdy CB. How hard is it snowing in Charlotte? We got only 1/4 of an inch here. Only enough to make traffic a headache, not enough to give me a day off from work. I think that will be next month.
Mike Kabala 2018-01-17T14:00:43-05:00
@Geist, we have a couple of inches already and it's still snowing. They're saying we could get up to 4 inches, which is a lot for a city without any snowplows.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T15:39:23-05:00
CB, that's the storm that's causing my brother so much of a hassle flying home through Atlanta. It's not that bad, really, so far as I can tell, but the airport pretty much preemptively went into emergency procedure.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T15:41:05-05:00
LZ, I think one time we had a storm like that at home. Man, it being out in it feels like rain, but if the rain were as heavy as drops of mercury falling at terminal velocity, like soft hail. Kinda funny, but yeah, walking around in it sucked, and driving would have been impossible.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T15:46:19-05:00
CB, wow, yeah, nevermind, that does sound like a ton for the south, where you don't pretty much never have to be prepared for this! In the midwest, give it a couple hours and everything's clear and ready, but that much there, not to mention in a large city, may well keep most people just stuck in at home until it warms up and melts this weekend!
Sounds kind of nice, though. If you're stocked up and everything's closed, just to relax at home until it all melts away.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-17T15:51:35-05:00
@Geist, awww, right back at you! You know we love having you come up, your presence alone is all the gift that we need! It is truly our pleasure to have you!
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-17T15:53:18-05:00
@CB, that would be scary, knowing that you've got all this snow coming and nothing the city can do to help. Most people there probably don't even have snow tires or anything! Hope you stay safe! Maybe plan some indoor/at home activities for the next couple of days?
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-17T17:37:45-05:00
I kind of want to be jealous of that, GM, but somehow I'm finding it extremely hard to do that. ;)
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-18T06:14:23-05:00
*yawn* Morning kittens. Lots of fridge air and what little snow is left is now ice. Thankfully, not much of it on the sidewalks.
I want some rum spiked hot chocolate right now.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-18T07:53:54-05:00
I had a Russian Chocolate for the first time last weekend, somewhat by accident. It's amazing what just regular vodka can do for hot chocolate. It warms you up in 2 ways at once!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-18T08:30:24-05:00
I also had an "Espresso Martini", 4 cL vodka, Kahlua's, a shot of espresso, and simple syrup, also one without sugar.
Holy cow, that thing is amazing. Just make it for yourselves if you love coffee, it's amazing! I've wondered how to combine coffee and alcohol to make basically exactly that, and I guess now I know!
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-18T09:05:31-05:00
Morning kittens.
Mike Kabala 2018-01-18T10:22:03-05:00
Morning kittens. I'm working from home again today, but I'll probably sneak out around lunchtime for a bite to eat. The roads should be starting to thaw out by now and I should be able to dust off my winter driving skills.
I may have found a new game to back...and it involves zombies!
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-18T11:04:08-05:00
GM, would that be TEZ? I backed it as soon as I saw it's a thing!
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-18T11:06:42-05:00
By the way, all, I know it's technically a violation of the community standards to do this, but check out Tiny Epic Zombies on KS! I think I'm okay to do thus because the EK campaign ended so long ago, and we're all friends here.
@LZ: That would be the one. I plan on backing it(just not right now since I don't have my credit card on me to be able to do so)
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-18T11:24:41-05:00
TEZ, looks pretty cool, but I've got zombies for days already with Z:BP and Z:GH incoming... ;) Gamelyn makes good games for sure though! Hard to go wrong there.
Mike Kabala 2018-01-18T11:39:00-05:00
I already have several copies of "I Hate Zombies" that I have never played.
Seems like nobody around here wants to play a game with zombies in it.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-18T13:11:28-05:00
Is anyone else suddenly getting automated emails from Kickstarter in Spanish?
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-18T13:16:01-05:00
LZ, nope, not even in English.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-18T13:16:58-05:00
or German.
`
Sorry, meant to add that to the end of the last one and somehow forgot in the middle of writing that sentence.
@LZ: Nope, but I got one from someone who's previous project I supposedly backed before. After looking through my projects(never clicked links in the email since it was in my Junk Folder - I go through it every now and then to see what stupid stuff people are trying to get me with now; have seen 3 from same person saying they need me to send money to access their dead uncles multi-million dollar inheritance and that they would come over and marry me after) there wasn't one from that person.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-18T14:16:25-05:00
Strange. I had been getting them in English whenever I'd back a project, there was an update, or people I'm following backed a project. Then, this year they started coming in Spanish
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-18T17:20:18-05:00
Haha, I keep forgetting to check in here throughout the day because everything's backwards for me now! I have plenty of time finally to check in during the morning, but morning for me is like SUPER early morning for all of you, so nobody's on till lunch.
Then, during the afternoon and evening, when I used to have the most time to check in, nobody else would be on, so I stopped doing it so frequently.
`
Now, everyone's on at night for me, and I have more time in the mornings, the exact opposite of the past, what, year and a half?
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-18T17:23:21-05:00
GM, haha, you get Nigerian Prince emails? I only ever get like diet pills or some crap like that!
`
LZ, that is really weird. Do you have a VPN setting you in Mexico? Or do you search everything in spanish? Or only back mexican campaigns or have your KS location in like Argentina or something?
Yeah, I think it's pretty clear I have absolutely no clue why you would be getting those either.
@Zem: More like Nigeriam Princess. The name, the other stuff that is said(where she will bear my children), and whatnot all point to it being a "female" sender. Still make me laugh, and report it as a phishing scam.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-19T02:17:58-05:00
Yeah, haha, it's really sad that people still fall for those. Still, I love the stories of people who so effectively draw the scammers on for like a week or two before they realize they're being scammed themselves, and one person who even got one of those scammers to give HIM money!
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-19T07:58:56-05:00
Morning kittens! The payment run is today and I had loads of stuff to do yesterday since the new girl (once again) took the day off. It's like the moment she gets 16 hours of vacation time, she's gone. She has enjoyed more time off at the 6 month mark then I've taken in my year and a half that I've been with the company. And I currently have 3 weeks of vacation at my disposal to use right now. That is going to change within the next few months if I can get this part time gig.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-19T08:00:51-05:00
*blinks at GM*
You getting marriage proposals in the mail? Wow, I've never gotten one of those although I have gotten more spam (of the adult kind) ever since I started to buy something from a vendor on FB but backed out. I guess that was their revenge.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-19T08:22:20-05:00
Wow, she just started and takes vacation that much? How does she still work there, don't most employers tend to not like new hires taking all possible time off immediately after obtaining it?
Mike Kabala 2018-01-19T08:46:36-05:00
Usually, people who have been there get priority over newbies on leave requests. If you happen to know when she'll have enough leave to take another day off, you *COULD* put in for leave on that day yourself, effectively blocking her from taking leave when she wants to.
... just a thought ...
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-19T09:15:06-05:00
Morning kittens! Its Friday!!!
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-19T10:26:33-05:00
@BaKhan: Amen on that!
Did I mention that I have to take a long test for the part time gig? The study material involves memorizing the Bill of Rights, Tort Law and company procedure. 50 questions in all and I have to pass with at least an 85% correct.
And the drug test that I went to take yesterday involved an eye, blood pressure and piss test. Not to mention another pile of paperwork that I had to fill out. You'd think my job was to guard the royal jewels with all that I have to go through just to get accepted.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-19T10:37:52-05:00
@Geist, wow, that does sound like a lot! Surprised they didn't want to take a hair sample too! They can tell a lot more about your drug use history from a hair sample then they can from your blood. Your blood holds signs for a relatively short period of time, less than a month for most of them, but your hair, holds it for months and months, sometimes a year or more. I hope after all you've been through they give you the job, I would! Just saying... ;)
Wow, TEZ is on fire! I couldn't help but jump on board after viewing all of the gameplay videos they have posted there.
I have @LZ to thank for lightening my wallet to the tune of $30.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-19T11:16:02-05:00
Geist/BaKhan, why not a stool sample while you're at it? Genetic sample, retina scans, toenail clippings, skin-scrapes, earwax (just to confuse the applicant)...
Mike Kabala 2018-01-19T11:17:54-05:00
@Zem, also that "Mental Competency Test" they made the President take where you have to identify animals from drawings and come up with as many words beginning with "F" as you can.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-19T12:25:05-05:00
@Zem, lol, no doubt! ;) Although the hair sample would trump most of those other ones you listed... ;)
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-19T12:25:44-05:00
@CB, is it bad that the first "F" word I thought of was food? ;)
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-19T13:04:39-05:00
BaKhan, probably not as bad as me.
`
"F... fu... fe... füf... faepple... fff... fun?"
`
Yeah... I don't think I'm mentally qualified to be president of a book cloob.
...
especially since I literally just spelled "club" with 2 f****** O's!
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-19T14:13:08-05:00
Glad I could help, CB ;-)
Mike Kabala 2018-01-19T15:32:47-05:00
I've already begun scraping the comments, numbering them, and putting them into a log file. I love following an active campaign.

Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-19T15:43:07-05:00
*chugs beer*
`
... literally called "Bier". Hey, not everyone here is creative, but it's the weekend, and 87 cent beer is... actually most beers here if you know where to shop. It's super cheap.
Geist de la Muerte Gatito 2018-01-19T16:23:30-05:00
@BaKhan: I think the reason why they still give pee test instead of hair samples is because it's A) cheaper to test or B) they aren't interested in behavior that is several months old. Honestly wouldn't surprise me if the answer had more to do with choice A.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-21T16:50:55-05:00
That was interesting and fun! I've never seen or really even heard about the opera Don Giovanni, but our UNL group was required to go. I may have a bit of an advantage over most people in my class and age because I listen to so much classical music, but I really enjoyed it.
`
Only problem: I've had literally no time all weekend to do almost any homework or studying. Between the opera and a really cool trip to Leipzig, I've been pretty well occupied.
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-22T09:15:42-05:00
Morning kittens!
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-22T09:16:35-05:00
@Zem, I guess they like to keep their visitors busy hey? Enjoy what you can, but if you have to choose (and you know this) school first! ;)
FINALLY! Sorry...my computer took almost an hour to update. >.>
Morning kittens.
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-22T13:17:57-05:00
BaKhan, they organize a bunch of events for us here (as well as our UNL group individually). The only problem, as mentioned, is that sometimes it can take up a ton of time.
`
Thankfully, this time, I don't think it really impeded me much, but yeah, I definitely know now to be careful how much time I'm spending away.
... in addition to how much money I'm throwing away while doing it, the lesson I learned from the weekend before with my brothers. Man, this is like an educational TV show; what lesson will I learn next week?!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-22T13:19:26-05:00
Also, if you guys want to see pictures, you can check out my facebook page if you know it (or if you can't find me, I could help).
In the case of those who wisely avoid FB, I guess I could post a few pictures to the LitterBox, but then again, that's just as inaccessible! ;)
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-22T15:09:04-05:00
Zem, if you're going to sacrifice virgins to gain access to something, the least you can do is remember the password! ;-p
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-22T15:23:46-05:00
Hey, I still have easy access, I've left it open this whole time, so it's never even logged me out, even after restarting my computer.
But every time something happens there, everyone else talks about how they can't remember their password, don't even have access to that email anymore, and are fresh out of virgin goats born under a blood moon.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-22T15:49:37-05:00
I see. Well, I used a portion of the blood magic to cast a memory charm on myself so I won't forget the passphrase
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-22T16:33:03-05:00
Is it "G******F******PIECEOFS***WhyIsItSoDifficultToSetAPasswordHere?!?!" ?
`
... because honestly, I don't remember my password at all, so if I ever do get locked out, that's probably the first thing I'll try when I start to rage-quit. Luckily, that's only happened to me like once, and I think I still remembered it then as well.

I see, BaKhan, you were just playing hard to get last year with all that snow. You were just tempting me knowing I'd be somewhere even warmer this year and hear about all the amazing snow home is getting, so I'd be desperate and willing to pay several times as much for you to ship me your snow!
Well...
It worked.

Is snow EU-friendly?
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-22T16:46:09-05:00
Zem, in my experience, snow is very EU friendly! I remember learning to ride a bicycle sideways because the blasted thing didn't want to go forward. Another time, I accidently did a donut on my bicycle. I wouldn't recommend it; I thought I was going to die. I still don't know how I managed to keep my balance.
Lord Zombitten 2018-01-22T16:46:45-05:00
Speaking of snow, we finally got some here! About eight inches in a single day!
Micah "Zem the Mattress" Philson 2018-01-22T17:16:43-05:00
Maybe I should move to a more snow-friendly place then; Berlin seems to love rain. I mean, all of Germany freaking loves rain unnaturally, which is normally great, but... dangit, I kind of expected to get homesick, but not just 2 weeks in, and not solely for snow! ;)
Rod "BaKhan" Mitchell 2018-01-22T17:17:58-05:00
@Zem, I'm afraid to even say this, but we've been getting very little snow lately, and the weather has been reaching above freezing temperatures quite often during the day. I bet you guys have gotten more snow (or would have if you were there, you know) than we have lately! Of course now that I've said that, the weather will remember that "This is Canada!!!" and kick us back down the bottomless pit of snow...
@Geist, lol, I don't know if I can imagine you as being shy! ;) Of course I remember that one, I think NyQuil is basically the new version of that tbh. ;)
@BaKhan: Trust me. Due to my crappy childhood, I was a very shy person. Wasted a good chunk of my 20's simply going to work and home.
@Geist, oh I get that... Its just the vivacious, outgoing and extremely personable person that you are now, makes that version of you hard to envision. Thats all. ;) So glad (and lucky!) that you've been strong enough to move past those times!
Geist, I run the KC FB page, and Creeper handles the Twitter
I'm the only one in my family who couldn't legally drink at least one time before they were 21; all 3 of my brothers could in Canada or one or two other places.
`
LZ, that could be the name of your autobiography!
"Nyquil by day and Dayquil by night"
So, the lead singer of the Cranberries died today...
@LZ: I saw that. Damn. I really liked her singing. Another part of my young years gone.
Ah, I didn't even know Kitten Corps had a Twitter account. I knew of the FB page, just took so long for me to join it.
LZ, oh dammit, please don't be serious. Man, they've been one of my favorite bands for a long time, my dad's too.
Sounds tough, but great, Geist! Best of luck that this really works out well for you!
Morning kittens.
@Geist, best of luck! I hope this is what you've been looking for!
Did you guys know that our postal service is selling Disney Villain stamps? I just ordered a sheet.
@BaKhan: I can order a sheet for you and Misty and bring it with me when I come visit next. If you're interested, I mean.
@Zem, Germany is 6 hours ahead of the east coast so I hope that helps... ;) I also hope that you're enjoying your true German immersion! ;)
depression doesn't equate a clean house
Tell me about it. That is part of the reason my apartment gets so junky. Even when I do get the time, I stay in bed all day instead of cleaning.
Does this mean I have to take back the gifts I've already purchased for you and the wife? I only got two presents and you can use them as displays for the trick or treaters at Halloween.
Please don't ever think that we don't value you or the things that you bring us! ;)
@BaKhan: Awww. Thanks but I give you guys presents to show how much I appreciate you having me over. I know that you are very busy getting ready for the party so picking me up at the airport plus tour guide afterwards is rather taxing for you.
Morning kittens.
Morning GM! How is your day going so far?
Aside from still being sick, pretty crappy. Come in and tons of backed up items due to nobody being able to properly cover for me. Definitely going to enjoy taking time off next month for the trip.
Morning kittens. Snow day here in Charlotte.
Wait ... there's a KC Facebook page?
Morning, all!
Geist, it sounds like your new job is starting out a little rough, but it sounds like it will be worth it in the long run. Hang in there. You got this!
@CB, indeed there is! It was established back in the glory days of the Kitten Corps. I started it up while you were building the website. Creeper handles the Kitten Corps Twitter account.
We've had T-shirt weather here for the past couple of weeks. I don't like it. We need a ton more snow to keep us supplied with water through the year.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered the puzzle.
Come to think of it, I should have remembered that there was a FB page, but at the time it was started I was spending all of my time updating the KC webpage. I suppose I should add some info about the puzzle and calendar over there.
Yeah, literally for the next week, there's not a single hour with a 0% chance of snow or rain, but it won't even get below 0°C until this weekend, and even then only overnight. So yup. tons of sleet and ice and wetness all week!
Woo.
Zem, I remember those days (I was one country to the west). Good times! There wad one memorable storm wherein the sleet was large enough to see that the individual pieces looked like the capsule the lunar astronauts came back to Earth in. That storm hurt...
Howdy CB. How hard is it snowing in Charlotte? We got only 1/4 of an inch here. Only enough to make traffic a headache, not enough to give me a day off from work. I think that will be next month.
@Geist, we have a couple of inches already and it's still snowing. They're saying we could get up to 4 inches, which is a lot for a city without any snowplows.
CB, that's the storm that's causing my brother so much of a hassle flying home through Atlanta. It's not that bad, really, so far as I can tell, but the airport pretty much preemptively went into emergency procedure.
LZ, I think one time we had a storm like that at home. Man, it being out in it feels like rain, but if the rain were as heavy as drops of mercury falling at terminal velocity, like soft hail. Kinda funny, but yeah, walking around in it sucked, and driving would have been impossible.
@Geist, awww, right back at you! You know we love having you come up, your presence alone is all the gift that we need! It is truly our pleasure to have you!
@CB, that would be scary, knowing that you've got all this snow coming and nothing the city can do to help. Most people there probably don't even have snow tires or anything! Hope you stay safe! Maybe plan some indoor/at home activities for the next couple of days?
Looks like I get the 113,000th comment
I kind of want to be jealous of that, GM, but somehow I'm finding it extremely hard to do that. ;)
*yawn* Morning kittens. Lots of fridge air and what little snow is left is now ice. Thankfully, not much of it on the sidewalks.
I want some rum spiked hot chocolate right now.
I had a Russian Chocolate for the first time last weekend, somewhat by accident. It's amazing what just regular vodka can do for hot chocolate. It warms you up in 2 ways at once!
Morning kittens.
Morning kittens. I'm working from home again today, but I'll probably sneak out around lunchtime for a bite to eat. The roads should be starting to thaw out by now and I should be able to dust off my winter driving skills.
Morning kittens.
I may have found a new game to back...and it involves zombies!
GM, would that be TEZ? I backed it as soon as I saw it's a thing!
By the way, all, I know it's technically a violation of the community standards to do this, but check out Tiny Epic Zombies on KS! I think I'm okay to do thus because the EK campaign ended so long ago, and we're all friends here.
@LZ: That would be the one. I plan on backing it(just not right now since I don't have my credit card on me to be able to do so)
TEZ, looks pretty cool, but I've got zombies for days already with Z:BP and Z:GH incoming... ;) Gamelyn makes good games for sure though! Hard to go wrong there.
I already have several copies of "I Hate Zombies" that I have never played.
Seems like nobody around here wants to play a game with zombies in it.
Is anyone else suddenly getting automated emails from Kickstarter in Spanish?
LZ, nope, not even in English.
or German.
Strange. I had been getting them in English whenever I'd back a project, there was an update, or people I'm following backed a project. Then, this year they started coming in Spanish
Yeah, haha, it's really sad that people still fall for those. Still, I love the stories of people who so effectively draw the scammers on for like a week or two before they realize they're being scammed themselves, and one person who even got one of those scammers to give HIM money!
*blinks at GM*
You getting marriage proposals in the mail? Wow, I've never gotten one of those although I have gotten more spam (of the adult kind) ever since I started to buy something from a vendor on FB but backed out. I guess that was their revenge.
Wow, she just started and takes vacation that much? How does she still work there, don't most employers tend to not like new hires taking all possible time off immediately after obtaining it?
Usually, people who have been there get priority over newbies on leave requests. If you happen to know when she'll have enough leave to take another day off, you *COULD* put in for leave on that day yourself, effectively blocking her from taking leave when she wants to.
... just a thought ...
Morning kittens! Its Friday!!!
@BaKhan: Amen on that!
Just saying... ;)
Morning kittens. So glad it's Friday.
Wow, TEZ is on fire! I couldn't help but jump on board after viewing all of the gameplay videos they have posted there.
I have @LZ to thank for lightening my wallet to the tune of $30.
Geist/BaKhan, why not a stool sample while you're at it? Genetic sample, retina scans, toenail clippings, skin-scrapes, earwax (just to confuse the applicant)...
@Zem, also that "Mental Competency Test" they made the President take where you have to identify animals from drawings and come up with as many words beginning with "F" as you can.
@Zem, lol, no doubt! ;) Although the hair sample would trump most of those other ones you listed... ;)
@CB, is it bad that the first "F" word I thought of was food? ;)
BaKhan, probably not as bad as me.
`
"F... fu... fe... füf... faepple... fff... fun?"
`
Yeah... I don't think I'm mentally qualified to be president of a book cloob.
...
especially since I literally just spelled "club" with 2 f****** O's!
Glad I could help, CB ;-)
I've already begun scraping the comments, numbering them, and putting them into a log file. I love following an active campaign.
*grinds teeth*
*chugs beer*
`
... literally called "Bier". Hey, not everyone here is creative, but it's the weekend, and 87 cent beer is... actually most beers here if you know where to shop. It's super cheap.
@BaKhan: I think the reason why they still give pee test instead of hair samples is because it's A) cheaper to test or B) they aren't interested in behavior that is several months old. Honestly wouldn't surprise me if the answer had more to do with choice A.
Morning kittens!
@Zem, I guess they like to keep their visitors busy hey? Enjoy what you can, but if you have to choose (and you know this) school first! ;)
FINALLY! Sorry...my computer took almost an hour to update. >.>
Morning kittens.
Also, if you guys want to see pictures, you can check out my facebook page if you know it (or if you can't find me, I could help).
In the case of those who wisely avoid FB, I guess I could post a few pictures to the LitterBox, but then again, that's just as inaccessible! ;)
Zem, if you're going to sacrifice virgins to gain access to something, the least you can do is remember the password! ;-p
Hey, I still have easy access, I've left it open this whole time, so it's never even logged me out, even after restarting my computer.
But every time something happens there, everyone else talks about how they can't remember their password, don't even have access to that email anymore, and are fresh out of virgin goats born under a blood moon.
I see. Well, I used a portion of the blood magic to cast a memory charm on myself so I won't forget the passphrase
