GCoD - Maybe they were just blowing in the wind. I have seen people do that on other KS. I have seen people come in and mention another KS and then when you ask them did they pledge it. They disappear. I have seen people work towards getting donations to a worthy cause and when you ask them if they gave to the same cuase. They disappear.
That still happens. We get a one or two in here from pebble once or twice a day too....

Pebbles are good for skipping on a lake. I buy a $15 watch with a velcro wrist strap and after 3-4 years the battery dies and I get another one.

I'd be willing to bet Pebble pre-arranged a deal with KS for reduced fees. I mean, if they come in and say 'version 1 got $10M, this should double it, give us a 1.5% rate or we're skipping crowd funding' what is KS going to say? No, we don't want $300,000, only a flat mil?

I agree, but it is win-win for them. I hope it doesn't become a trend, because I don't want KS to become a pre-order mobile.
A few game companies are already using KS that way, but they are small firms. Pebble took in $10M -- they should be on their own now.
