There was a creepy guy roaming the parking lot when I walked the closing phlebotomist to yer truck. He tried to get into the building when I went back in. It was awesome going out alone, not knowing whether he was still there. It's times like that I wish I was allowed to take my gun to work

Funny thing is that my day is almost over.
The car is being fixed and will cost me a grand sum of R5421.00 which will be USD $437,52 / EUR 411,89 at the going rate. That's a little less than half my monthly income. :( Still better than the full price, but DAMN... what a crap month.
My car reached the point where it just simply wasn't worth it for me to keep fixing. Especially given that I only use it here for large loads, a task I can accomplish by other means as well.
The maintenance was going to start getting into the [regular car payments] territory, and it was only a matter of time before my transmission gives out... given the ridiculous amount of mileage I've put on it....

Where we live you simply must have a car. Everything is 5-10 minutes away - but by car :)
Also going to and back from work makes 15 kilometers a day. It was 30 when I lived on the other side. It's an hour long bus-changing nightmare otherwise. One direction.
lol, I definitely get that Tsveta. I'm not orginally from Philadelphia so I understand the need for a car. I'm just glad I don't need one in most cases here.

That's still creepy, and actually dangerous in it's own way.... You should carry bear mace around with you. That shit will put most people right on their asses. You'll probably have to get certified for it, and I can assure it is no pleasure cruise. It's ridiculous that you can't carry a gun if they aren't providing security (active guards) in the area.

@Creeper: I saw your earlier post about the shitty tippers. This is one of the main reasons why I don't work in the service industry anymore. That kind of treatment pisses me off. If I had been a part of that party, I would have shamed everyone else into coughing up more dough.
Everyone should work as a waiter or cashier at least once. Then they will know what it's like having to deal with buttholes and will never NOT tip less than 20% ever again.

And about that one, in Finland, waiters never expect top as they are paid well enough by the company they work for. In korea people would run after you thinking you forgot money if you leave tip in restaurant.
I'm all for people needing gun permits to own weapons, it maintains accountability. That you have a conceal carry law there and they won't let you bring it to work, given where you work, is stupid.

LZ no one has seen me! I had to take a break from KC. I needed to buckle down and find a job...which I did. I am now in the process of studying to take exams to get licensed to sell insurance in the fine land of NJ. A far stretch from software development butt I need something new. On top of that my daughter got her first stomach virus at 19 months. Which outs no fun in normal circumstances butt she has medicine she has to take (for seizure control) so we had to go to the ER to get something to babe her stop throwing up so we could get her medicine in her. Then of course my wife and I got it the next day. But everyone is fine now and I promise to check in more often!

@geist- the big party- it seemed like nobody cared about the tip. And that was the pattern the entire weekend. Multiple times I saw people specific reading the suggested gratuity, then rolling their eyes or sucking their teeth and put down a couple of dollars. All while telling me how sweet and attentive I was. I'm used to getting a bad tip once in awhile from a table because they "just dont tip" or play the "we don't know any better card". But to be repeatedly hit this weekend, one after the next after the next, it was awful. Embarrassing and really heartbreaking. I've never cried over a bad tip Before. But yesterday broke me. I've been doing this way too long. I need to get my business to the next level or you'll hear about me on the news soon- going apeshit in a restaurant.
