One week here was all above 90 F and at least 80% humidity, just like Nebraska likes and I don't. No problem with heat, just the humidity paired with it. The next week was rainy, but not nearly as much as May this year, in which we got 11 in. rain just where they measured it. One area got a full foot over several hours once. We had 1/5th the average before may and one and a half times as much after. Crazy year.

I went through the same thing as the travel account administrator. The amount of request for information changes could be as high as 70 per day.

Geist, only 2 cups? I drink out of a double-size mug and make sure the pot is drained after it's been started. Typically one or two other people have a cup or two, but if it's too much then I make another pot so that I can have my 2-4 large mug-fulls. I do that about two to three times a week and have coffee otherwise. Wimp. ;)

All of my info was correct, and I clearly stated my rewards when I backed this kickstarter. I filled their survey and support@explodingkittens.com with my order number on the 3rd party pledge manager site they are using... I'll be very disappointed if I end up getting shafted .. It would be nice to know that they used the ORIGINAL information I provided when I backed.. and what I selected by default.. survey or no survey... that is what they should do. If they didn't run a report of people and proceed with their original info.. thats just sad.

I think I will take in a museum exhibit (they have one on prohibition at the National Gallery) or just chill out at home and get to organizing my books. (Doesn't sound exciting but I really need to put together a list of all the fiction I have. More than once I've purchased novels that I already have a copy of)

@Potatten: I fare verily...okay, this is taking too much thinking...not bad. Excited that my FFXIV: Heavansward is at the airport in Miami as of 3am today, and should be in my hands when I step in the door tomorrow after work.
@Geist: I know the feeling. I'm almost able to relax for two days, then only a total of 7 working days before a 5 day weekend.
I'm still not sure if I want to get into it. I TRIED XI, but I really couldn't get into it. The veteran players certainly didn't help. When gamers get to feeling high and mighty holy shit do they become asshats.
Yeah, they typically do. Even now, when I run dungeons and it says someone is new, if no one else is helping explain things, I take it onto myself to help them. One of the "trial" dungeons(8 people against 1 boss), if people don't know where to stand, or when to move out of the way from massive attacks, I mark myself with an X over my head to show when, and where, to move. Surprisingly, it works wonders. Even for "veterans" who don't follow how you should be doing it to survive.

I still have 6-6.5 days(depending on if I get Christmas Eve off) of vacation remaining this year. I might take a week off in October, or September(the week of my birthday per chance)
@Potatten: Yeah, I've ran through dungeons where the tanks face the enemies TOWARDS the party, causing the party to take tons of damage, rather than just the tank needing to be healed. Too much stress on the healers.
I also play a class that is known for constantly holding down the dirt(always dead), yet I survive longer than 90% of healer, tanks, or ranged DPS.
I get it can be confusing certainly. I don't generally go for melee characters often. I prefer my glass cannon variety personally... which really shows my personality given I'm an actual canonneer. I loved doing that. What class is that GM?
I play Dragoon, so I'm right up in the enemies face(well, stabbing them in the back with my spear). And the trial I was referring to, is Titan Extreme. You should look it up on YouTube, find the one made by MisTEQ(I think that's her name on there), and she shows exactly what the stuff you need to watch for is...and there are bloopers at the end too.
The Blue Mage seemed interesting, but I made it no where near far enough to follow through on very much. Let me know how XIV is.

@Geist: Yeah, this is the first year, where I can actually get paid for taking my birthday off...so I might just do it.
@Potatten: There is no Blue Mage in XIV. They are coming out with three new classes: Dark Knight(Tank), Machinest(Ranged DPS, similar to an Archer/Bard, but with guns), and Astrologist(Healer that uses some sort of cards). It's a fun game, tons to do, and something like 20 jobs/classes to level up. They are also raising the level cap from 50 to 60(supposed to take same amount of time getting from 50 to 60 as getting from 1 to 50)
Oh, and @Zem: Just join in, start a topic. It's no fun if you don't have to take a moment to think about what topic fits where in the stream of things.

You're lucky. My dad works for a major company from India. They treat americans as if they're third or fourth class citizens, which makes sense because most of the Indians there are upper class. But he knows people 2 or 3 levels below him that do half the work if you're lucky, do horribly on what they do do, leave someone, almost always him as he's a moderate-level manager, to fix everything they did do, and still earn sometimes tens of thousands more than he does. And he has on average 4 to 5 times as much work to do.

Well, time for lab. More measuring things to within 0.0002 grams of the previous measurement, doing 6 or 7 titrations, and hoping you come out withing +/- less than 1% or else you lose points. As my professor says, in Analytical Chemistry, it's those first four letters that make all the difference; you have to be completely anal about every measurement.
@Geist: It doesn't surprise me that something like that happens. Some places just don't care, and want to make others work harder than they really should, while giving free rides to others.

Wow.. I'm so confused... I missed the survey in e-mail, but I clearly stated when I backed this project what I wanted, and all of my information was correct... So now I don't get my backer rewards?

You should also IMMEDIATELY log back into the pledgemanager and update the information to a stable place you want to send it to (parents/friend)

@Richard, they made a commitment (promise, my interpretation) that all backers will receive their rewards. Contacting them will help expedite this process.
@Geiss, Holidays? When did this happen? I have no leave to take and the only holidays that I know of are the schools closing/ending their terms.
All of my info was correct, and I clearly stated my rewards when I backed this kickstarter. I filled their survey and support@explodingkittens.com with my order number on the 3rd party pledge manager site they are using... I'll be very disappointed if I end up getting shafted .. It would be nice to know that they used the ORIGINAL information I provided when I backed.. and what I selected by default.. survey or no survey... that is what they should do. If they didn't run a report of people and proceed with their original info.. thats just sad.
I just did the survey now, because I completely missed the info.. but all of my original info and pledges I selected should be valid if I never did the survey... right?
@Ex: I thought you mentioned that there is a holiday coming up this weekend for you. I know that next week is the July 4th weekend. I'm going to get 4 days away from the slagging heck hole of a job so that should be nice.
I think I will take in a museum exhibit (they have one on prohibition at the National Gallery) or just chill out at home and get to organizing my books. (Doesn't sound exciting but I really need to put together a list of all the fiction I have. More than once I've purchased novels that I already have a copy of)

@Potatten: I fare verily...okay, this is taking too much thinking...not bad. Excited that my FFXIV: Heavansward is at the airport in Miami as of 3am today, and should be in my hands when I step in the door tomorrow after work.
@Geist: I know the feeling. I'm almost able to relax for two days, then only a total of 7 working days before a 5 day weekend.
I'm still not sure if I want to get into it. I TRIED XI, but I really couldn't get into it. The veteran players certainly didn't help. When gamers get to feeling high and mighty holy shit do they become asshats.
Yeah, they typically do. Even now, when I run dungeons and it says someone is new, if no one else is helping explain things, I take it onto myself to help them. One of the "trial" dungeons(8 people against 1 boss), if people don't know where to stand, or when to move out of the way from massive attacks, I mark myself with an X over my head to show when, and where, to move. Surprisingly, it works wonders. Even for "veterans" who don't follow how you should be doing it to survive.
@GM: 5 day weekend? Is there a holiday happening that I don't know about?
@Geist: July 1st is Canada Day, so we get the day off...then I'm taking the 2nd and 3rd because, why not?

I heard you GM. Independence Day is next week and I'll get three days off. Pity I don't have vacation time or I'd take an extra day myself.
I still have 6-6.5 days(depending on if I get Christmas Eve off) of vacation remaining this year. I might take a week off in October, or September(the week of my birthday per chance)
@Potatten: Yeah, I've ran through dungeons where the tanks face the enemies TOWARDS the party, causing the party to take tons of damage, rather than just the tank needing to be healed. Too much stress on the healers.
I also play a class that is known for constantly holding down the dirt(always dead), yet I survive longer than 90% of healer, tanks, or ranged DPS.
I get it can be confusing certainly. I don't generally go for melee characters often. I prefer my glass cannon variety personally... which really shows my personality given I'm an actual canonneer. I loved doing that. What class is that GM?
I play Dragoon, so I'm right up in the enemies face(well, stabbing them in the back with my spear). And the trial I was referring to, is Titan Extreme. You should look it up on YouTube, find the one made by MisTEQ(I think that's her name on there), and she shows exactly what the stuff you need to watch for is...and there are bloopers at the end too.
The Blue Mage seemed interesting, but I made it no where near far enough to follow through on very much. Let me know how XIV is.
@GM: My birthday is in the first week of September. I hope to have a permanent job by then so that I can have that day off. (Kinda sucks when you have to work on birth anniversary and all you want to do is party for 24 hours)

@Geist: Yeah, this is the first year, where I can actually get paid for taking my birthday off...so I might just do it.
@Potatten: There is no Blue Mage in XIV. They are coming out with three new classes: Dark Knight(Tank), Machinest(Ranged DPS, similar to an Archer/Bard, but with guns), and Astrologist(Healer that uses some sort of cards). It's a fun game, tons to do, and something like 20 jobs/classes to level up. They are also raising the level cap from 50 to 60(supposed to take same amount of time getting from 50 to 60 as getting from 1 to 50)
Oh, and @Zem: Just join in, start a topic. It's no fun if you don't have to take a moment to think about what topic fits where in the stream of things.
How do I know that my boss is evil? He keeps giving me the invoices of this completely stupid idiot who always has something wrong on them because she doesn't bother to check her work. He told me that it was my job to correct it. Yea right.
Send it back to her, saying you're extremely busy, and she needs to fix it. Heck, be away from your desk for a bit in case she comes by to see how busy you are.
Ok, GM. So... well the first things that came to mind were the new series on Geek&Sundry, which only I think it was Potatten watches occasionally, chemistry, which only LZ could sympathize with, and Rhett and Link, which I know someone here knew but I don't think that person's on because I forget who it is.
...You've completely lost me Zem. The only things I know of in there, are that LZ and Potatten are KC members. :D
I miss when everyone was on here almost every day and if you knew what part of the day they were on, you could meet with everyone. And I would be on from after noon to midnight or one o'clock, later on weekends. We need to find everyone and tell them to check in here more often.
I wish the kicktraq kept tracking after it was done. It'd be interesting to see how the comments gradually died after it ended and and how many per day there are now. That could be really interesting, seeing how much it's surviving and maybe even the amounts per day of the few people who still check in regularly.
@GM: You think I haven't mentioned that? I've sent stuff back two or three times and it just kills me how this person is still allowed to get full benefits, raise and bonus for sending down shitty work that I have to clean up.
I swear, when I find this next job, I'm giving this place only an hours notice. And that is being generous.
You're lucky. My dad works for a major company from India. They treat americans as if they're third or fourth class citizens, which makes sense because most of the Indians there are upper class. But he knows people 2 or 3 levels below him that do half the work if you're lucky, do horribly on what they do do, leave someone, almost always him as he's a moderate-level manager, to fix everything they did do, and still earn sometimes tens of thousands more than he does. And he has on average 4 to 5 times as much work to do.
Well, time for lab. More measuring things to within 0.0002 grams of the previous measurement, doing 6 or 7 titrations, and hoping you come out withing +/- less than 1% or else you lose points. As my professor says, in Analytical Chemistry, it's those first four letters that make all the difference; you have to be completely anal about every measurement.
@Geist: It doesn't surprise me that something like that happens. Some places just don't care, and want to make others work harder than they really should, while giving free rides to others.
@Zem: Have fun, and remember to be anal while in the lab. ;)

oh sorry dumb moment
So... really nothing since I went to lab? I guess, as evidenced by this whole week, from now till I go to bed it will be silent. There was like 5 or 6 hours of nothing before I left. Then I wake up early before class, only TEP's been on, can't post until lunch, during which time everyone is on, go to lunch, a couple people are on, and then if I have lab, after it it's dead here.
Haven't got my card game yet and i was never sent the survey to my email. I feel like im being scammed.
I love when someone doesn't believe in reading the comments just below or looking at the updates and then feels like it's a scam because they didn't pay attention.
