Geist, the only way we get a delay or snow day here, at least the high schools and stuff, is if the bus can't get out. And we have some pretty darn diligent bus drivers here! My dad said he went to Philadelphia and the entire city closed for 3 inches of snow. Here, nobody cares about half a foot or more, so long as you don't get stuck. I really don't understand those rules, unless it's like the parts of Texas where it snows like once every 20 years and nobody there can drive in anything more slick than rain.

I stepped out of a vehicle then I heard and felt it pop. Ugh. I have a history of back issues. Even had a discectomy when I was 25 for a herniated disc that split open and was leaking spinal fluid on my sciatic nerve. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the definition of pain.

@Trinkets: I'll pass on the back problems. When I sneeze too much, my back will spasm painfully and feel like there are a 1000 needles sticking into it.
I think I'm going to go and purchase some sinus medicine today. I couldn't get any sleep last night because my nose dripped like a faucet and was mostly clogged. (I can't stand breathing through my mouth and sleeping. You wake up with a mouth that feels like a desert)

I don't remember if it was Arctic Circle or Dairy Queen, but the guy said, "Here at [swill place], we don't just have rainbows. We have rainbows on FIRE!" And the rainbow in the background burst into flames. And I cheered.
Kittenwatch (real life kittens): Mama had disappeared for two days. Showed back up today, clearly not pregnant anymore. Her three teens were with her (pics on kittencorps forum). Hopefully kittens are ok. She seemed very hungry.
Also - Kittykitty must have had a night. Covered in soot.

Since ours is the lowest "Buildable" lot in the area, not so much. In fact there is a about a half inch of water in it right now and it hasn't rained in days. That's why I designed it with two sumps and a back up generator. I dislike flooding very much.

Digging should conclude today. Concrete is slated to start on Monday. Everybody keep thinking dry thoughts for the Chicago area.
